Treehouse Vineyards I

After purchasing a Groupon for a wine tasting almost five months ago Josh and I finally got around to using it this weekend. We both took off of work on Friday and decided to have ourselves a little Friday Funday. We headed out to Treehouse Vineyards with a picnic in tow ready to give wine a shot, both being beer people we haven’t indulged in wine too much.

First let me say the property is gorgeous and they have such a fun concept! The vineyard has two different treehouses on property you can rent out. One called Date Night, the other Papa’s Dream. Date Night is available to rent by the hour while Papa’s Dream is an overnight rental. Wanting to live out every little kids dream of hanging out in a tree house we put ourselves down for Date night. Where we spent an hour eating lunch and hanging out on the treehouse porch. I probably said this over fifty times on Friday (and hundred this weekend) but it was soooo cool! My inner child was freaking out with excitement…I mean hello I was spending the afternoon in a treehouse! After I finally calmed myself down and reverted back to my semi-adult self we sat down at the little table inside the treehouse with a window overlooking part of the vineyard and enjoyed our meal. Then headed out on the porch where we gave our bottle of wine a try (check out Josh’s proper pinky) and savored the incredible weather.

Later we made our way inside the main building to take part in a wine tasting. This is where the real fun began…for Josh who got to watch me make ridiculous faces after each wine I tasted. It was a success though! I found two different wines I liked, one of which may just become my go to. We were able to taste eight different wines and also try a winorita – my kind of wine drinking! The winorita was similar to a slushy or frozen margarita made with muscadine cider and your wine of choice. I definitely liked this one! After wine tasting and hearing all about Treehouse Vineyards we decided to explore the property a little on our own. We walked around the actual vines, checked out the pond, the other treehouse, and a few of the rope swings they have. Overall it was such a good time, perfect day date! We’ve already decided we want to go back again during one of their events or a Saturday night when they have live music. If you live in the area (Monroe, NC) or are traveling through I would definitely recommend stopping by Treehouse Vineyards.

Check back tomorrow for a post on my outfit from our afternoon at the vineyard.
