Summer To Do List Update

Since tomorrow marks exactly one month until the first day of fall (crazy, I know!) I decided I needed to take a look back at my summer to do list and see just how many things I’ve checked off my list. As always summer has seemed to fly by! Being more than halfway through August already seems truly unreal! I have to admit I haven’t looked back at my to do list even once (until now, whoops!) so I’m realizing I really need to step my game up for the next thirty days. How’s your summer to do list coming along?

So far I’ve completed these:

Try out a yoga or pure barre class – tried out a two week trial at a yoga studio, I’m totally addicted. It’s a lot more intense than I had anticipated leaving me feeling like I had a really great work out while at the same time completely relaxing me. It’s true, yoga zens you.

Make a drunken watermelon – Josh and I gave this a try for 4th of July. Although the process didn’t work the way we wanted it to the watermelon was definitely drunk and I might have followed along – hey it was for America!

Plan a girls getaway with a girl friend or two – this finally happened! My girl friend Natalie and I have made plans for a trip to Boston in the middle of September. I’ve never been so I cannot wait to check out the city and see a couple of my friends that recently moved there. Also another trip with other girl friends in the works for the first weekend in October. Woohoo!

Read a whole book – just did this last week, finally! I absolutely loved the book, The Island, it just took me forever to find the time to finish. Definitely a great by the pool or beach read. Ready for the next one!

Completely clean out and organize my closet before fall rolls back around – this surprisingly was the first item off my list. I did two big purges and it felt great! Now I’m ready to fill it with new items for fall.

Still need to do these:

Try out a few different western North Carolina breweries

Take a weekend road trip with the boyfriend to the beach or somewhere new and spontaneous

Have a picnic in the park

Give making jam a try

Visit Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens

I've tried to make drunken watermelons a million times, and I always end up drunker than the fruit because it doesn't absorb properly. Won't complain 🙂

Gabriela, I'm so happy to know I'm not the only one that had that "issue" 🙂
