Man Cave Upgrade

Mancave Upgrade

I was invited by Man Crates: Gifts for Men to participate in their ” Man Cave Makeover” campaign. The challenge for this campaign, find items to update the typical neon beer sign, mini fridge, dart board, and bar coaster filled room. Create a room as unique and entertaining as the guy in your life. Or if you really want to make it different, create the man cave in the form of Heavy Duty Timber Workshops! A space where men can be men and enjoy whatever their hobbies may be!

Man Crates is a company that offers creative gift items for the men in your life. Allowing you to step away from the ties and socks and buy them something they’ll truly enjoy opening. And they’ll truly enjoy opening this gift as it’ll require them to use a crow bar, how cool is that?! Whether you’re trying to help them decorate their brew room, step up poker night with the guys, upgrade their shaving routine, or indulge them with their favorite snacks – Man Crates has you covered.

Now let’s talk about the man cave I designed and why I went this route. I knew the space had to include a big ole television for Sundays full of football, comfy seating, wall art, and beer! I started off trying to find the perfect couch to build the room around. For a man cave I felt something dark, plush, and simple was necessary. Since there’s lots of eating and drinking going on while sitting here I thought a darker shade would be a good idea 🙂 and although it’s pretty much a well known fact guys hate throw pillows I could not pass up this Keep Calm and Eat More Bacon pillow. Next up was surrounding the couch with items a guy would want to be surrounded by. I wanted to upgrade the typical beer and neon light signs with some vintage looking pieces like the cowboy print, beer ale sign, and vintage bulb single monogram. Add an industrial light over head and a solid wood coffee table to place their beer (and feet) with a hide rug underneath to add an extra touch of rugged.

A bar cart was a must for this room. I’m loving the way these old household staples are making a comeback. They give off such a sophisticated vibe and allow you to showcase (and share) your favorite beverage. I continued the industrial look of the light and chose this bar cart with a metal frame and wheels. Topped with a variety of liquors, a beer making kit, and a decanter to house his favorite.

Then a few finishing touches were necessary. I showed this to Josh about halfway through to see what he thought and immediately I was asked, “Where’s the television? Where’s the recliner?”. Obviously a man cave isn’t a man cave without a massive television so into the man cave the television went. I liked the simplicity of this television stand and how it still provided ample space for whatever electronics a guy must have! And even though I’m in no way a huge fan of recliners I added one just for Josh (and all other guys that MUST have one). I have to admit though I actually do really like this one. It’s sophisticated and has a really clean look to it. Placed a few beers on the top and crates filled with them behind the couch and the man cave was complete!

What do you guys think of this man cave? Think you could spend your Sundays watching football here? Ladies, what would your guys man cave look like?
