Goodbye Summer

With summer unofficially ending this past weekend {officially September 22} I decided to round up my five favorite looks on the blog this season. From laid back to snazzed up it! With three out of five of the looks being from the Southern Blog Society conference in Charleston. Shocker right? This summer I stocked up on a few wardrobe essentials. Items I’ll have for years to come as well as a few fabulous dresses I absolutely could not pass up! Like this extremely fun stripe + cutout number from Topshop. So take a walk down memory lane with me as I share my favorites {click the photos be taken directly to the post for full outfit details}. Definitely let me know which post was your favorite this season! Also I’d love to hear what y’all would like to see more of for fall. Whether it’s more fashion posts, an item in particular styled, more recipes, beauty tutorials, whatever it may be!

5. This lightweight jacket was my “big” purchase while I was in Charelston for the Southern Blog Society Conference. I decided within a second of having it on that I had to have it. I haven’t regretted it for a single second! This look was not only perfect for the summer months {jacket only necessary some evenings} but also for the transition into fall. If you’re in the south you know the temperature will still be up there for quite some time and shorts are totally acceptable well into September.

4. This look is sooo me. From the stripe tee to the giant scarf to the panama hat I was absolutely addicted to wearing this summer. RIP panama hat. Unfortunately it didn’t make it after an afternoon at the lake last month. This combo though was perfect for exploring Charleston {or any other little town on summer vacay}. These wedges from J.Crew {they’re on sale just  FYI} were also my favorite purchase of the summer!

3. This was love at first sight. The blue floral pattern and unique design of this dress won my heart. As I’m sure if you follow Louella Reese you know that this dress can be unbuttoned at the waist so it can be worn separately. You can see me styling as as a top here. Skirt here and here. I mean how fun is that? The dress also has an adorable tie on the back. Creating a little cut out. It’s really just the cutest dress.

2. Speaking of cut outs…this Topshop dress has the cutest little one. I wore this for cocktail hour at the SBS Conference where I received a ton of comments from the gals. Pretty much every blogger is obsessed with stripes {don’t ask me why} so I knew it’d be a hit. I also had a blast wearing it! The dress is completely different from anything I’ve worn and the cut out was definitely a bit out of my comfort zone {it’s almost on your belly, who doesn’t get a little nervous about that?}. But honestly I felt fabulous strutting my stuff in it 😉 also these Moon and Lola earrings could not be more gorgeous.

1. There’s no one I couldn’t choose this look as my favorite. This dress completely shocked me. When I purchased this maxi wrap dress I was thinking it’d be perfect for brunch or throw on some summer afternoon for a little event. But when my dress for the SBS conference didn’t arrive in time {literally waited to leave hoping it’d arrive} this was the only option left. 1. I’m so glad I had it. 2. This dress ROCKS. As you can see from the photo below when I walked the slit went pretty darn high and created this gorgeous flow of the skirt. Not only does the dress look gorgeous when you walk but it photographs beautifully! Again with the lower neckline and thigh high slit it was bit out of the comfort zone but again proved it’s great to step out of that zone sometimes.
