I’m always trying to find ways to transition my dresses into the winter season. Whether it’s pairing them with tights, lightweight turtleneck underneath, or most recently with over the knee boots. Lucky for me I came across another option that still allows the dress to be seen {unlike when paired a coat or jacket}, a sweater cape. Perfect for layering over dresses while still allowing you to add a layer under the dress if you want {or need} to as well.

I wore this look yesterday for a full Sunday afternoon. First up was a little wedding planning meeting with the fiancé and my dad. A pit stop at Nordstrom to return a couple items and get Joshua’s watch repaired. Then we were off to Mebane, NC to see a project my sister has been working on. This look was perfect for the slightly warmer weather we were experiencing yesterday. Although the wind was strong {as you can tell my by windswept hair!} so an extra layer was definitely needed.  A sweater cape added the perfect amount of warmth and ease to the look.

Real quick can we talk about this bag from Draper James?! Obsessed. Obsessed. Obsessed. The color, shape, and classic monogram had me the second I laid eyes on it. I love the shape most, as it’s a bit different and can easily be a classy clutch with the cross body strap removed. If you haven’t checked out Draper James, you need to stat!
