Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. – Ephesians 4:2

Happy Valentine’s Day! Since today is Valentine’s Day I figured a verse with love as the topic was necessary. There’s just no other option, right? 🙂 To me this verse talks about different ways you should act when loving someone. Whether it’s your significant other, a family member, a friend, or even a stranger. Simply saying I love you doesn’t prove to someone you do in fact feel that way. Showing them by the way you act, is truly how love is seen.

Humbly yourself at times, being gentle with feelings, having patience {sometimes extreme patience, thank you Joshua}, and loving the person even through difficult times or when that person is being difficult.

When you humble yourself you are remembering that you are also far from perfect and make mistakes too.

When you are gentle you are considerate of others feelings.

When you are patient you are slow to act when someone angers or annoys you.

All of these can be difficult at times but isn’t the person {people} you love worth it?

God proves over and over again that we are worth it! So in the hopes of being more like Christ this is a verse I will reflect back on more often. What are your thoughts on this verse?
