Blogging Favorites: 5 Things I Love About Blogging

Happy FriYAY! So happy as always to be one step closer to the weekend. Even more excited this Friday as it’s the last weekend before our wedding (8 days, YAY)!! With all of this excitement I decided today would be a great day to highlight some of the things I love most about blogging. Maybe if you’re thinking about starting a blog this will help you to take the plunge!! Or if you have a blog and you’re in a little rut hopefully it’ll inspire you out of that rut!

I’ll also be sharing 5 of my favorite trends this fall featured in People StyleWatch magazine (more on that later).

Top 5 Things I Love About Blogging:

Blogging Friendships – I have met some of my best friends through blogging. Emily and Corbin are two gals I text almost daily and sometimes cannot make decisions about. For me it’s hard to believe I’ve only known them for a little over a year {two for Corbin}. Part of that time was only through social media and blog posts. BUT they’re not two of my very best friends! Blogging opens you up to so many people you would have otherwise never met. The best part is those people, share your same interests! While Corbin and Emily are my biffs, I’ve met so many other fabulous gals that I talk to regularly as well. Blogging is a great way to make friends!

Opportunities – The opportunities you have as a blogger are endless. There are endless brands to work with. Endless items to write about. Endless people to meet. Seriously there is SO much you can do and try as a blogger. Every time someone reaches out to me to work together or try out something new, I am truly blown away. One that they want to work with me and two I’m getting this crazy awesome opportunity! Each opportunity I become more giddy about blogging and this crazy adventure I am on. It also shows that hard work pays off and is SO worth it!

Challenge – Blogging isn’t easy peasy. Blogging is hard work. It’s incredibly time consuming! Blogging also challenges you to always improve. You can always work on something. Whether it’s pinning more images from your posts, responding back to tweets, linking products to share across social media, editing photos, writing posts, or taking photos. There’s ALWAYS something to do. And you can ALWAYS get better at everything. Editing photos is an art. That is something you can always watch more tutorials on, take a class to perfect, spend time practicing. The challenge to improve and finish posts ahead of time is something that drives and excites me.

Connecting – I LOVE connecting with y’all! It is so much fun to chat via comments, emails, and in person. Meeting y’all in person is my absolute favorite thing! I love to hear what you’re thinking of the blog lately. Including what you want to see more and/or less. As well as an item you purchased that was recently featured and how you’re liking it. It’s so great to hear people actually read my blog and enjoy doing so! I think that’s something you always worry about as a blogger so receiving comments or getting to chat in person is kind of the best thing ever!!

Surprises – There are times I’m super surprised when it comes to blogging. Examples would be when a post I was nervous about sharing does insanely well or I get to meet one of y’all at the grocery store or a brand I’ve loved for years reaches out to work together. All of these are big surprises to me and absolutely make my life! I never take one of those moments for granted and completely cherish them. One of the best and most recent surprises was being asked to be a part of the most recent People StyleWatch Magazine. I have a little feature with my image and couple Q&As about fall fashion. I might have yelped with excitement when I found out this was actually real and really happening haha. Best. Surprise. Ever. So in honor of the fall issue, I’m sharing my top five fall fashion picks below!

Statement Coat – this is a MUST! A statement coat can absolutely make an outfit. You can wear a total monochromatic look, throw on a statement coat, and be the most fabulous person in the room! A statement coat is worth investing in.

Chic Booties – every gal needs a great pair of booties. You’ll wear them with dresses, denim, skirts, leather leggings, and more. Seriously the style combinations are endless with a great pair of booties! I recently purchased this pair and I’m hooked. See how I styled them here.

Fabulous Handbag – this is probably a duh but it HAD to be said! Every season calls for a new handbag – it’s the perfect excuse to pick up one you’ve been eyeing. Clare V. has been on my radar for some time now and I think it’s time to finally scoop one up!

Off the Shoulder Sweater – off the shoulder is going no where fast! While we all loved the cute little tops for summer, the sweaters are even better! They’re chic, sophisticated, and sassy! Aka a serious need in your fall wardrobe.

Great pair of boyfriend jean – duh! If you’ve noticed (here, here, and here) I’m currently obsessed with boyfriend jeans. Therefore I’m incredibly happy to see they’ll be big this fall/winter season. They’re the comfiest things ever and can easily be dressed up and down.

What’s the top item on your fall must have list?
