A couple of weeks ago I attended an event at Concord Mills right outside of Charlotte. After the event a couple of other bloggers and myself headed into H&M. It had truly been years since I had been into an H&M store. Mainly due to the fact that Charlotte had been behind the curve for so long with no H&M locations. We now have two though! Anyways, during that trip I picked up some of my new favorite pieces {and now remembered why I had loved H&M so much}, including this t-shirt dress

I have since worn the t-shirt dress six times. You could say I’m a fan of the item. Truly the dress is beyond comfortable and I’ve found myself styling it for all occasions {running errands, date night, weekend living, lounging around the house}. To be honest though, the item could only be worn as a dress if you’re 5’4” and under. Otherwise, it could be worn as a tunic.

While visiting Chateau Elan last month {can you believe it’s June now?} I styled the t-shirt dress for dinner + wine. The temps were up and I was looking for something comfy + breezy. This t-shirt dress was the answer!

A couple of tips for styling your comfiest {and favorite} t-shirt dress for dinner and/or date night:

Pair the dress with wedges – Wedges instantly elongate your legs and dress up your look! Exactly what you want for dinner and/or date night. I almost always opt for wedges in a neutral color to help elongate my legs even more and allow my dress + accessories to take center stage.

Carry a clutch – Clutches were made for evening and/or dressed up events. Don’t you agree? Similar to wedges, they almost always dress up your look. Fun fact: the one I’m carrying in this post was actually my grandmothers. I say have fun with your clutch. Go for one with a pattern or brighter hue. If it’s solid make sure it has some detailing.

Wear one piece of statement jewelry – A MUST! A piece of statement jewelry will instantly make you more date night ready. Don’t go over board though, stick to one item. Otherwise, you’ll look like you’re trying too hard! Especially when wearing a t-shirt dress. I went with statement earrings BUT a necklace would look amazing with this dress too.

Add a fun accessory – As you can see, I went with a bandana around my neck. Lately, I am all about this trend. I’m also all about this bandana {as you can see here}. The addition of the bandana is a little unexpected and brings a spunky feel to the look. Play around with your fun accessory. Maybe add a headband, bow hair tie,  sunglasses that have some serious detail, or a  silk neck tie scarf
