Who likes hopping on a cruiser bike and exploring a new spot? I do, I do, I do! Personally, I find it to be one of the best ways to explore a new city/town and incredibly fun. You’re able to cover more ground, you feel more of a breeze, and you look really stinking cute! While visiting Fearrington Village earlier this month, Morgan and I hopped on the cruiser bikes and did a little exploring. We had a blast, although it did take us awhile to get our bike legs back {anyone else feel like they’re riding a bike for the first time after months of not riding?}.

For the ride, I went with my trusty overalls, a simple popover shirt, sneakers, and a baseball cap. The combination was incredibly comfortable and functional. Two things needed when riding a bike! Especially if it’s for more than a short cruise.

When picking out what to wear for a bike ride, I highly recommend going with functionality first and foremost. In case you forgot, you’re going to be riding on a bike! You can’t be wearing a short skirt or dress you’ll be pulling at constantly. Flip flops may fall off. Heels or high wedges may cause you to loose footing and topple over. Therefore, I would say no to all of these items!

So what would I recommend?

Sneakers, ballet flats, or strap on sandals, would all be great options for footwear. Each of these styles are bound to stay on, give you a little support, and grip the petals a little better than the others mentioned above.

Overalls, shorts, jeans, or chinos are all items that would be functional and comfortable when riding a bike {as long as your shorts aren’t too short}. I would honestly put overalls at the top of that list. I found them to be so comfy while riding. Also, I didn’t have to worry about pulling them up or down during the ride, they stayed in place perfectly!
