Where I Went:
This month was a one and done in the travel department. Joshua and I travelled with family to Duck, NC from September 9th to the 16th. It’s the longest vacation we had taken since our honeymoon and the longest we had been together since then as well. We loved every minute of it! I also paused in the blogging department and stepped away from social media a bit. Which was really nice! An escape from work + social is definitely needed at times. I came back with batteries charged! You can read all about our trip here, see an Instagram recap here, and check out the only look I shot while there here

Movies Watched
Zodiac – This movie was outside of my typical movie wheelhouse but I actually really liked it! Typically, I’m all about rom-coms, comedies, or military movies so this thriller was a shocker for sure. I 100% say it’s worth the watch though! Jake Gyllenhaal gives an incredible performance {seriously he’s an amazing actor, blows me away with every movie}. As does, Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr.. Downey’s character was pretty hilarious to me, also a bit sad. You’ll understand when you watch the movie. Although be prepared, it’s a longer movie.
The Big Sick – I’d say this one is a rom-com aka totally a rom-com. We picked this one after seeing it in Redbox and checking out the Rotten Tomato reviews. After seeing the movie received 98% from critics and 90% from audience, we couldn’t pass it up. A hilarious, yet heartfelt movie about a multicultural romance. I give it a thumbs up for sure!

Recipes Tried:
Asparagus Sweet Potato Chicken Skillet – I used this recipe as the base but ended up switching ingredients up quite a bit. I switched out the sweet potatoes for regular potatoes and the asparagus for broccoli and black beans. Basically, because that’s what I had. The end result was quite tasty! As I believe the original recipe would be as well.
Fluffy Greek Yogurt Pancakes – These might sound a little weird and you might be saying “Greek yogurt in pancakes, what?” BUT I promise you they’re amazing. Honestly, I don’t think you can say you’ve had pancakes until you’ve tried these. They were a real winner when I made them for family. Which reminds me, I need to make them again!

Reading:
The Nest – Love, love, love! After finally finishing my last book, last month, I couldn’t wait to dive into a new one. I had my fingers crossed for a better outcome {wasn’t a fan of the last one, read why here}. The Nest did not disappoint. The novel was one of those books you can’t put down, you need to know what happens next. I started and finished the book within two weeks. Which is pretty great for me as the last one took over three months {eeek}! This book is the story of four siblings trying to figure out life, love, and money {the nest}. It’s entertaining, exciting, and relatable. With that said, I absolutely recommend this book!

TV Shows Watched/Watching: I am still watching Parenthood via Netflix. This past weekend I kicked off season 5, meaning I only have two more seasons to watch. I am still loving it and feeling even more invested in the Bravemans then ever haha. Nashville and Suits are both on hiatus for a couple of months so right now, lame.  Grey’s Anatomy has started back and Scandal will soon, so at least I’ll have those two. What are y’all watching this fall season?

Take a look back at my recaps from AugustJulyJune, May, and April
