Charlotte Snow Day

So excited to share a Charlotte snow day! We FINALLY had one yesterday and it was glorious.

Yesterday here in Charlotte, NC we received the first snow day in what seems like forever. Last year, we had no luck. Only a couple of sprinklings of snow and a little ice. The previous year was just about the same. So to say I was a little excited to wake up to snow pouring down from the sky is the understatement of the century. I won’t lie, Tuesday night, I was a huge negative Nancy. Saying we wouldn’t get any, it’s just a bunch of hype, and weatherman Brad is wrong again. BUT, boy was weatherman Brad right! By 9am, Charlotte was covered in snow and the trees were looking flawless. Anyone else think snow covered trees is just about the prettiest thing ever?

Joshua was working from home {as was half+ of Charlotte} so we decided to take a little journey outside during this lunch break.

Since I teased on Instagram how pretty the Duke Mansion would be covered in snow, we ventured over to check it out. Like weatherman Brad, the Mansion did not disappoint. It was an absolute beauty! Seriously, something out of a storybook. We snapped a couple of photos, explored a little of the grounds, and soaked in all of the snow covered beauty. If only these photos did it justice. Even prettier in person y’all!

Snow days are my favorite and I believe everyone should have two or three of them a year! Being in the South that’s pretty much all your get {if you’re lucky}. If you’re from the North, I know you’re over snow very quickly and totally understand. I am originally from Pennsylvania and by late October, I was over it. When you only experience it once or twice a year though {here in the South} it’s something very special and magical!

Did you have a snow day yesterday? What’s your favorite thing to do on snow days?

P.S. read about our stay at The Duke Mansion last month here. This place is a must visit when you’re in Charlotte OR for a staycation if you’re in Charlotte.

You are seriously so cute! I’ve been wanting snow here in portland, but residents here freak out at the sight of a snowflake, so maybe it’s for the best. I’m loving that jacket! xo

It hasn’t snowed much in SLC this season, and I am not complaining! You look darling as a snowbunny, though!
