This feminine look was probably my favorite outfit I wore at NYFW. The color combination + style of the pieces felt so me, like they truly reflected my personality and personal style. Not to mention, I stuck out in a sea of black and gray. Which isn’t NYFW all about standing out and showing off your style?! I picked out this look with the Kate Spade presentation in mind. The dress + coat combination felt very classic Kate Spade to me. Once we walked into the entry way, I knew I was right when the color of my coat perfectly matched the Kate Spade photo wall {aka where you could stop and take photos of your look for the show}.

The actual items in the Kate Spade presentation for Fall/Winter of 2018 were very different though! I’ll be sharing photos from that on Monday. So stay tuned!

Now onto how to jump from Winter to Spring when it’s cold outside!

My tips for this are really quite simple!

Choose pieces in lighter hues. Think pastels {blue, pink, green, purple}. The actual pieces don’t have to be spring items. Example: the coat I’m wearing in today’s post is very much a winter coat. However, the lighter pink shade welcomes spring and is a nice change of pace from typical black, navy, and camel winter coats. Similar to the gloves + handbag featured here. While they are a darker green shade, they are again different from the go to black and camel pieces we so often see for winter.

Go for floral patterns. I know, shocker, floral for spring. But, florals really are a great way to bring pops of spring into your winter wardrobe. This sequin shift dress provides just right amount of floral to make a statement. Again, choosing lighter hues will provide spring vibes. So opt for florals with a lighter color as the “background“.

Be a little playful! Today’s look is a little playful to me. Are you getting that vibe too? From the pink coat to the floral pattern to the green accent pieces. Have fun with your look, be a little more playful with your combinations. Add a pop of color. Whether it’s your coat or handbag or gloves. While you’re still staying warm for the cooler temps, you can add a little spring with playful combinations. Spring is an exciting time, it calls for some fun!
