We arrived to a very rainy NYC Wednesday evening before NYFW kicked off. Luckily, that rain was the only rain we saw during our time in the big apple. While the rain cleared, the temperatures did not rise. This southern gal was COLD! However, I really kept in mind the freezing temperatures when packing so I was well prepared. You can check out what I packed for NYFW here. We also didn’t let the cold keep us from doing anything we had planned! We even skipped Ubers here and there and braved the cold to walk! Which is hands down the best {and often times quickest} way to get around the city. Anyways, here are a few snaps from our trip and some details on what shows we attended, where we eat, and other things we did.

Snapping Photos

One thing we did not allow the cold to keep us from, snapping photos! We met with Allie of prêt-à-provost our first morning to grab content for upcoming posts and capture our NYFW looks {see here, here, and here}. We shot for three straight hours and explored the SoHo neighborhood of NYC. I seriously fell in love with this neighborhood and cannot wait to go back and explore! Pro tip: schedule to take photos your first day, as early as possible. That way shooting is done and you don’t have to stress about capturing your looks as you go.

Attending Shows

We that the opportunity to attended three shows for our first NYFW. Those shows included Tadashi Shoji, Sherrie Hill, and Kate Spade. While I was excited to attend each of them, the Kate Spade presentation was a dream come true. This one was also a presentation vs. a show. So rather than it being 5-10 minutes of models walking down the runway, they were on a stage for attendees to walk around and take their time viewing. I loved this as I could really take in each look and catch each piece fully! At the Kate Spade presentation they also served champagne, apps, and goo-goo bars. What’s better than fashion, champagne, and yummy treats?!

Visiting Showrooms + Meetings

Part of setting up our NYFW schedule involved setting up meetings with brands + show room visits. There were a couple of brands we knew we wanted to touch base with while in the city and have some face to face time with. Having the opportunity to meet your brand contact in person is amazing! It is always so nice to put a face with a name + contact.

We had several meetings throughout each day and a couple of showroom visits where we met with designers and checked out their latest collection. Plus a peek at some new collections {there’s a handbag I NEED in my life that we peeked at}. One of the showrooms we visited was that of Neely & Chloe. You can find me styling one of their bags here, here, and here. They’re show room is what blue and white dreams are made of and is so beautifully set up. Not to mention their handbags are on full display all over the place and I was left with a wish list 10+ handbags long.

Grabbing a Bite

Our expectations for grabbing bites during NYFW were pretty low. We packed RxBars and Epic jerky. Since NYFW is all about running from one show/presentation to the next plus meetings {and photos for the bloggers} we knew time for eating would be limited. However, we did have the opportunity to grab a couple of legit meals. Including breakfast at our hotel {fuel for the busy mornings + afternoons}, dinner one night with Dana and Allie, and one fabulous lunch with one of my college girl friends.

My favorite meal from the trip was the fabulous lunch mentioned above. Which was at La Pecora Bianca. Oh my goodness was it amazing! From the sparkling rosé + meal to the aesthetic of the restaurant. I was in love and never wanted to leave. Another “meal” that I have to mention because it was SO good {and funny} was Shake Shack. Morgan and I were WIPED our final evening after attending the Sherrie Hill show. Neither of us wanted to do anything except hop in bed, in our PJs, and lounge. Therefore, frozen custard concretes were the way to go. The BEST way to close out NYFW haha.
