What I Packed for NYFW Fall/Winter 2018

Sharing plus what I packed for NYFW plus a little about my NYFW experience!

What to Pack for NYFW in February | What I Packed for NYFW | Louella Reese Life & Style Blog

This past week I had the opportunity to attend NYFW with one of my blogger besties {and real life BFF}, Morgan of How 2 Wear It.  I wish I could explain to you how much of a dream come true that trip was for me. Like so many other gals, I had dreamt of attending NYFW since I was a tiny tot. After the first trip to NYC with my mom, I was hooked. NYC was the place for me! Filled with all things fashion, fabulous food, and incredible theater plus so many other things. The fashion though, that was number one. I remember preparing my packing list for that trip and the next one after that. I wanted to be one chic middle schooler. New York City inspired me and I couldn’t wait to go experience full on fashion inspiration for the Fall 2018 season.

Let me tell ya y’all, NYFW did not disappoint! If you’re on the fence as to whether you should go or not, the answer is YES. Yes, you should! NYFW is truly an experience of a lifetime and something that should be celebrated, treasured, and soaked all in. You may have noticed while in NYC I only shared my experience via Instagram stories {no permanent posts} the reason for that was I wanted to truly enjoy my time, be in the moment, and soak everything in. I didn’t want to spend time planning the perfect IG post or really even spend that length of time on social media. I was all about the quick IG story posts and getting back to being in the moment. Hope you all understand why I had that mentality and aren’t upset at me for not posting during that time. I promise, I have a lot of great content coming your way!

Anyways, before diving into looks from NYFW, Tips for Attending NYFW, and more, I wanted to share what I packed to attend NYFW Fall 2018.

Clothing

When planning out my outfits for NYFW I opted to keep everything in the same color palette. One to make mixing and matching a lot easier {maximize the number of outfits I could create} and two to keep everything looking cohesive. Also, most items were blue, white, and pink which also happen to be my favorite colors haha. I do recommend choosing a color palette though when planning for NYFW or really any trip. You’ll be able to mix and match a lot more which then allows you to pack less.

Jewelry

If you haven’t noticed by now, I am ALL about some statement earrings. Give me a fabulous pair of statement earrings and I am good to go in the jewelry department. Therefore, when packing for NYFW I pretty much only brought statement earrings + my everyday cable cuff and ring combination. {engagement ring and wedding bands too, of course!}

Shoes + Hosiery/Socks

Comfort! For NYFW I believe your shoes should {aka NEED} to be comfortable. You do A LOT of walking and you’re on your feet most of the day. Therefore, comfort is key. If you do have just one meeting or one show to attend and then you’re back to your hotel or off to lunch {in an uber} then yes, go all out and wear some fabulous heels. Otherwise, reach for comfort, your feet will thank you later!

Handbags + Accessories

Crossbody handbags are key when attending NYFW. You’re using your hands constantly! Whether your taking photos, Insta-storying, pulling up your confirmation for a show, or using Google maps to figure out where the heck you’re going! Also, packing handbags that can go with multiple looks as handbags take up SO much space in your suitcase. One HUGE game changer, carrying a backpack at the airport. This was my first time opting for a backpack rather than a tote and OH MY GOSH I will never go back. The backpack made life so much easier and I was also able to fit one of my handbags into the backpack.

    I bet Feb NYFW is so much harder to pack than Sep because of the coats. I count myself lucky to be living in NYC so I don’t need to worry about how I’m gonna fit my stuff in the suitcase lol

    • Oh goodness I would definitely say yes. Even though I haven’t attended NYFW in September, I can assure you the coats take up a lot of space haha. Yes, that is so nice for you!!
