Styling Coffee Table Books

Sharing a couple of ways to style coffee table books and some of my favorites!

It’s all about coffee table books today. While I’ve always been a fan of collecting items {teapots, ginger jars, and statement earrings} I can’t say coffee table books were an item I would have thought I’d collect. However, since updating our living room, I want them all! Blue and white ones with pops of pink, of course. We really just started our collection {aka my collection, Joshua hates them, what is with guys and pillows + coffee table books?}  a few months ago but I’ve already come across some fabulous ones I had to share.

As stated above, I’ve been focused on collecting coffee table books in a particular color. I want them to compliment the color scheme we already have going. Adding to it, rather than distracting you from it. So that is my number one tip when styling coffee table books: choose coffee table books that match your space

Next tip, purchase books you actually want to read. While they might look pretty, you also want them to be of good use. If you’re into interior design, go for Beautiful, Living with Pattern, or the Domino Set. If interior design ain’t your thang, maybe opt for fashion books like The Art of the White Shirt  or Things We Love. You can also go for cocktail or recipe books. This Rosé All Day book is so fun and extremely pretty!

Final tip, DON’T feel your coffee table books have to stay on the coffee table. Place them on your television credenza, on a side table, or a console table. There’s no reason these books can’t be spread throughout your home!

As you can see in these photos, we have a couple displayed on our television credenza. They perfectly fill the little shelves and keep that from being dark, dead space. Additionally, we have some on one of our end tables {I forgot to snap a pic but you can see them here}. Now, I’m thinking of adding some to our little blue console table. Just a small stack.

Also, play around with stacking them and stacking objects on top of them. Flower filled vases, candles or ginger jars, to name a few. Layering like this adds more personality and provides a more cozy feel. Rather than the books just looking as though they were placed somewhere, they now appear to be a part of something.

What are some of your favorite coffee table books? I would love to hear {and maybe shop} them. Comment below and share!

  1. LOL it’s so funny bc I always try to decorate with the few books I have and they are horrid. I’m gonna keep my eyes peeled for pretty ones!

Great picks! we currently have no coffee table — our living room doesn’t really fit one well. But when I did have one I loved changing up the books often with funny titles or weird subjects I knew would catch guests’ eyes.
