Hope y’all had a fabulous weekend and enjoyed the amazing spring/summer weather! Joshua and I are just getting back from a long weekend in the North Carolina Mountains where we visited a ranch. Visiting a ranch/dude ranch has been on my travel bucket list for some time and when the opportunity came to visit one I quite literally jumped on it! Those that know me, know I have a little country side. I love farms, the mountains, cows + pigs, and all country music! Packing for this trip was probably one of my favorite packing experiences ever. I was truly like a child packing for their first trip to Disney World.

Anyways, I’ll be sharing more about our trip {and looks too} this week, but until then, I wanted to share what I packed for our trip and if we were going longer, what else I would have brought.

My tips for packing for Vegas: pack neutral pieces, lots of denim, and things that can get dirty. I packed items that I could mix and match, creating more outfits then I really needed without a lot of extra. Which was great as I was able to bring a smaller suitcase, yet still have plenty to wear. When packing for a ranch it’s about versatility and functionality. You will be outside lots of the time and may be hiking, exploring, horseback riding or another activity that will require comfy clothing. So prepare for that! My go to pieces for day were overalls {my specific pair has sold out}, easy skirt, and this striped tank.

When it comes to footwear definitely a simple, comfy pair of sandals and boots. I wanted to go all out western so I brought my cowboy boots along. Which I was honestly thankful for when horseback riding and out exploring the property. Layers are important too as nights are chillier, especially when in the mountains. A denim jacket is always a good idea. I loved pulling this fleet jacket over everything too.

If you have any specific questions about the trip or about a ranch/dude ranch in general please let me know! I would be happy to include the answer in one of my upcoming posts about the trip! Look back at past travel style here.

    • Aw thanks gal! Oh you totally need to do it. And if you’re in North Carolina or semi close, you should absolutely look into Cataloochee Ranch. It is beautiful and such a special spot.
