Wild Dunes Resort

Sharing a little about my most recent trip and a Wild Dunes Resort travel guide!

Wild Dunes Resort Review | Louella Reese Life & Style Blog

Just over two weeks ago, Hillary of Hillheady and myself took a little trip to Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, SC. It was kind of a staycation for Hillary as she’s based in Charleston but we’re calling it a trip! It was the perfect spot for a little girls getaway and we could not have been more blessed with the weather. Sunshine, warm temps {not too hot}, and a nice slight breeze. It was glorious!

The drive was super easy and just under 4 hours from Charlotte. Also great if you were wanting to stop in Charleston for an afternoon or full day on the way there or on the way home.

I had heard great things about Wild Dunes from several friends and fellow bloggers. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! It is such a beautiful spot! Perfect for a long weekend or full week getaway. Or if you’re able, a great place to summer! One of those places that would be perfect for families to visit summer after summer. Rent the same house, condo, or cottage OR spice it up and rent a new one each year.

WHERE TO EAT

You have some serious options when staying at Wild Dunes. Several great spots on property and few just minutes away. On property there is Coastal Provisions, Beachside Burgers & Bar, Hudson’s Market and meals delivered right to you

Off property some of the most recommended places include Huey’s Southern Eats, The Salty Goat, and Woody’s Eatery.

During our visit we dined at Coastal Provisions twice and Beachside Burgers and Bar once. Both were so delicious! Costal Provisions definitely has our hearts though.

Snack:
Fried Green Tomatoes
Side of French Fries
Prosecco
Rosé

Dinner:
Mean Greens
Beef Tartar
Grilled Jumbo Asparagus
Creamy Baked Mac & Cheese
Bottle of Prosecco
Moonshine Berry Hand Pies

Lunch:

Grown Up Grilled Cheese
2 Sides of Fries

WHERE TO STAY

You have a couple of difference options when booking your stay at Wild Dunes. There is the Boardwalk Inn, The Village, and family-friendly vacation rentals, condominiums, and cottages. Obviously which one you book is really based on the size of the group you visit Wild Dunes with!

If your group is larger or you’re traveling with your family, I would recommend the The Village or family-friendly vacation rentals, condominiums, and cottages

The Boardwalk Inn is perfect for couples. Also, an easy walk to the boardwalk {hence the name} and the beach. This is where Hillary and I stayed and we loved it! The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and have large windows so you can soak up the view.

WHAT TO DO

First, I totally recommend driving and walking around the property of Wild Dunes. It is absolutely beautiful and there is so much to see. Hillary and I spent a little over an hour walking around and loved it. Saw lots of little ponds with sweet turtles in them!

Go to the Beach: This is a duh, right? An absolute must do. The beach here blew me away! I have honestly never seen a beach so large. It is so beautiful! Also, you can rent chairs + umbrellas which helps with trunk space and you don’t have to worry about lugging them around. Aside from the beach, you also need to visit the pool at The Boardwalk Inn, it is adult only and wonderful!

Golf: While we didn’t participate in this activity, I know their course is very popular! It has been named among the “Best in State” by Golf Digest. You can enjoy 36 holes of signature golf courses designed by Tom Fazio.

Hit the Spa: Another activity we didn’t participate this go around but will 100% be doing next time. What is better than getting in some spa time while at the beach? The offer a wide variety of spa treatments you can check out here.

Can’t wait to go back, try out some of the things we didn’t do and lounge in a cabana again. Oh, and I cannot wait to have their French fries again. Y’all they are legit the best! Dream of them daily! If you go aka when you go, you HAVE to order them from Coastal Provisions.

Hillary and I were gifted a a stay at Wild Dunes Resort + meals in exchange for a review. All views and opinions are of course my own!
