Six Winter Purchases I’m Still Loving

With coming to a close – hopefully sooner rather than later I thought I would share my favorite winter purchases of winter 2018/2019. Aka the pieces I have worn on repeat all season!

The Importance of Buying Pieces You LOVE - Even If Trendy featured on top US life and style blog Louella Reese| Image of a woman wearing Chicwish Knit Your Love Cardigan, Madewell Overalls, Yellow Wool Hat, Ariat Two24 Wilder Boots, and Neely & Chloe Ladylike Handbag.

Similar to this summer, I’ve been focusing on being less impulsive and more thoughtful with my purchases. Meaning, will this particular item be something I’ll wear more than once? Super often? Does it provide me the ability to mix and match it with several different items and styles? Will I love it after this season? If I said no to two or more of these the item did not make it home with me. And just like this summer, I found myself with a closet full of pieces I absolutely love. Items I have worn over and over again this summer, just as excited to reach for them the 30th time as I was the first time.

Therefore, I thought I would share some of my favorite winter purchases, why they’re my favorites, and why I recommend them. Just as I have loved them, I am convinced you would too!

1. Chicwish Heart Pom Cardigan & Callahan Heart Pom Sweater

The obsession with these sweaters is so real. I mean, I am in love, obsessed, addicted, and want them all! These cute little heart sweaters are so much fun to wear and style. Adding the prefect little feminine touch to whatever you pair it with!

They will also provide you with endless compliments when you’re out and about as just about everyone can’t get enough of them either. In addition to the sweet words you’ll receive, they’re also incredibly warm and cozy.

2. Anthropologie Bootcut Corduroy Pants (fit more like flares)

The love affair I have for these pants is INTENSE! They’re comfortable, the perfect length for wearing with a low heeled boot (I’m 5’4” for reference), and they make your booty look darn good! Truly, they are the full package!

They also allow you to give your jeans a break and switch things up a bit. Have a little fun and spice things up! Also, they are great for slightly dressier occasions where those jeans just won’t cut it.

3. Line & Dot Cropped Sweater

I rented this sweater from Rent the Runway in the blush hue for my birthday celebrations and completely fell in love with the fit of the sweater. I truly did not want to send it back to RTR. But of course, I had to. So when I came across this navy version it was a no brainer. 100% a sweater I will wear for years and years to come. It is perfectly cropped to wear with high-waisted/high-rise items and the sleeves also have a slight crop which I love! Also, it is the perfect medium weight sweater to wear from the start of fall to the start of spring!

While it isn’t super pricey, it isn’t totally budget friendly either but I would totally recommend making the little splurge!

4. Bronze Felt Hat

Totally would not expect myself to say a bronze (mustard-y) hat would be one of my favorite purchases of winter BUT it totally is! Surprisingly, the item goes with just about everything and ups your style game instantly. Not to mention it is fabulous for bad hair days or when you just simply don’t feel like doing your hair.

The exact one I purchased sold out pretty quickly – it was on sale and you seriously couldn’t beat the price/pass it up – hence why I came home with it haha. However, the one linked in today’s post and pictured to the right is EXTREMELY similar! Same color, almost as wide, and has a better band around it!

5. Madewell Olive Transpost Tote

It was love at first sight with this handbag. Honestly, it is my dream bag. The color is my absolute favorite for fall/winter, the straps give you a variety of ways to wear it – including as a cross-body, and the size is perfection.

You can carry everything you need and have a little extra space in case you want to store your scarf while inside somewhere. Oh and it is incredibly lightweight! Seriously, it basically weighs nothing on it’s on. Which makes it great for travel or when you’re out and about with a full day of errands to run. You know – those times when your bag is filled to the brim with SO many things. This bag won’t add extra weight to that.

6. Reebok Classic Leather Sneaker

I had been on the hunt for months for a replacement pair of white sneakers. My previous pair (see them styled) were way past their prime. Finally, after seeing Bre Sheppard style these Reebok Classics I made a purchase (see, I was influenced by an influencer haha). They have become my everyday shoe and basically all I wear unless I am headed to the gym, an event, or church. They are so comfortable and kept my feet super happy even after 29K steps for two days in a row at NYFW.
