The Perfect Affordable Trench Coat | NYFW 2019

Finding the perfect affordable trench coat has been a mission of mine for years! Finally, I have found it!

First look from NYFW! I am so excited to start sharing these looks with y’all! Today’s looks is one of my favorites for two reasons. One it is my only look from NYFW that includes a dress (WHAT?! Seriously, I don’t know how that happened). Two it involves the most perfect affordable trench coat ever! Oh also, I’m like really obsessed with how my scarf wrapped and wish I could get it to look like this every time. But it never once looked like this again, the whole trip.

Anyways, if you’re like me, you’ve spent season after season searching for the perfect affordable trench coat. One that fits you perfectly, is lined but not too bulky, and doesn’t absolutely break the bank (hello Burberry, I’m talking about you). I truly cannot tell you how many trench coats I have tried on in stores or ordered online with extreme excitement only to be disappointed. The number is HIGH I can tell you that much!

Well that recently changed when I was gifted the drape trench coat from Everlane. I had honestly been eyeing it for over year but thought it was just too good to be true. Under $150, a great length, lined, and from reviews pretty darn comfortable. Well spoiler alert it is not too good to be true – it is true! Trust me when I say it is the ultimate trench coat. Perfect for wearing in spring, fall, and with layers in the winter.

I wore the trench coat our first full day in NYC due to the rainy weather. Which it was PERFECT for! And then again with this dress for an afternoon and another time with all white (can’t wait to show you that look).  Three totally different looks and occasions yet it worked perfectly with each one!

Also, I just need to sing Everlane’s praises real quick. If you’ve heard of the brand or seen it around, you know it basically has a cult following (totally not kidding). I’ve been a fan for a little over a year now but didn’t truly understand the obsession until this month. Between the trench coat, these amazing chino pants, their new rain boots (already have worn them five times) and visiting the store I AM HOOKED. Like I want everything! I now totally get why there is a line to get into the NYC store every saturday and Sunday. Mainly because Morgan and I waited in that line and then squealed with excitement as we loaded our arms with pieces to try on!

So what’s on my Everlane wish list right now, you ask? Their relaxed boyfriend jeans, cotton box cut pocket tee, men’s 365 fleece crew sweater, and the day heel in pale rose.  What are you loving?

I love this trench! It’s truly so hard to find a good one that doesn’t break the bank or look too cheap! Also, I’m so into this maxi dress with tights look.

    Have a great weekend 🙂

    • Thank you so much Lee! Aw, I couldn’t agree more. I absolutely loved getting to finally meet you – next time we definitely need to get together more. Sadly, I won’t be there in September as we have a wedding we have to travel for during NYFW but planning on next February again! If you’re going we definitely need to make plans!

  17. I can definitely sympathize with wanting to find the RIGHT trench coat! Here in #yyc (Calgary, AB, Canada) finding a warm, but stylish coat is a must since the winters here (like this February!) have been very cold. Great pick from Everlane!

What size are you wearing? Did you have to size down? I am normally xs, but everyone is saying it runs big.

    • I would definitely recommend sizing down. I’m wearing a 0 and wish I would have gotten a 00.
