Okay first, before I dive to far into talking about workwear I feel like I need to state something. I have unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) never had a job where I needed to “dress up” or dress professionally. Now I couldn’t come to work like a straight slob or rock my pajamas (until I started working from home) but I could always wear jeans, a simple dress, or sometimes even leggings and sneakers.

So with that said, I’ve never really had the opportunity to have fun with workwear looks. However, in NYC earlier this month for NYFW I kind of took a stab at it with this midi dress + trench combination and then again with today’s look. And to be honest, I absolutely loved it! Like truly had a blast diving into this new arena I’ve never been in. How lame do I sound right now? I’m feel like I sound pretty darn lame or super annoying to those of you who do have to dress for the corporate world every day. But hey, the grass is always greener, right?

Anyways, today’s look is one I would 100% wear if I worked in a professional office. The look is clean, modern, and pulled together yet totally reflects my personal style and has a very chic factor to it. If I had to guess, I would say you probably have several of these pieces in your closet (or super similar ones). A chunky knit sweater, chino pants, booties, a large tote, silk or satin scarf, and a classic coat. The fact that the sweater, chinos, and booties are all white definitely give it that chic feel and dress it up a bit. However, you could totally opt for black if that’s more your speed. Or even navy, olive, or brown.

I personally loved the white as I LOVE white clothing in the winter. It’s such a nice change of pace from the darker colors we typically gravitate towards when the temperatures cool. Also, with spring right around the corner I’m absolutely ready to welcome it with all crisp bright white!

I talked ALL about this trench coat on Tuesday so I won’t say anything additional other than it’s absolutely fabulous and you need it! Also, these slouchy chinos are game changers. Perfect for the office during the day now and through the summer season. As well as being perfect for after work and weekend life. Trade the sweater for a sassy blouse or a simple body suit and you’re ready for drinks. No need to change up anything else about your look. Except maybe add a pair of statement earrings! Come warmer temps, pair them with a crop top or body suit and your favorite wedges + straw handbag and you’re good to go for spring/summer living.

Now who’s ready for those spring/summer temps?!
