This post may look a little familiar but I promise it is different. Last week I shared How to Build the Ultimate Capsule Wardrobe. Which included a detail description of what exactly capsule wardrobes are, tips for creating one, and clothing to purchase to do so. Today, I’m diving into the accessories needed to complete your capsule wardrobe for the fall season.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes, accessories are my favorite part of my look! They’re a great way to really showcase your style and spice it up or tone it down a look. So today, let’s talk about the accessories you need to complete your fall capsule wardrobe and showcase your style!

Accessory Items to Create the Ultimate Fall Capsule Wardrobe

Handbags

Tote – I recommend choosing one that could be worn for more dressed up occasions but also for those casual days. That way the bag is a versatile as possible and can be worn often, with lots of your capsule wardrobe items.

Crossbody – This handbag should be functional, it could very well be your go to bag during the season so you want to enjoy using it and find it easy to carry. A neutral is always a good idea but you could also go with a pop of color here. Colors of the season: olive, burgundy, burnt orange, and millennial pink.

Clutch – This will be your “dress up” bag. Think date night, fall weddings, and special events.

Backpack – My personal favorite recently! I wore my backpack non-stop during our recent trip to Savannah, GA. So easy to carry, can hold a lot, and the style is super cute!

Shoes

Neutral Ballet Flats – Your everyday shoe for the season, while it’s still warm enough for your ankles + top of your feet to show. Neutral is a great choice as it allows you to wear the ballet flats for more dressed up events and casual day dates.

Neutral Booties – Basically the same as the ballet flat except for cooler days. Booties also give a little more dressed up vibe {with an edge}.

Pumps – Your snazzy shoe for the season. I went the metallic route, that way the pumps would match everything in my capsule wardrobe and look a little extra fancy.

Sneakers  Comfy, casual, and cute!

Additional Accessories

1-2 Hats – Berets are huge this season, so if you can pull them off {still deciding if I can} then I would 100% recommend adding one to your wardrobe. Also, a knit beanie is always a good idea. Keeps your head warm and looks super cute. A floppy felt or wool hat also looks super chic and fall-esque.

1-2 Scarves – Cooler temps call for scarves! My personal favorite accessory. Pick one neutral pattern or solid scarf and one with a little pizzazz {or playful pattern}.

Pair of Gloves – Again, cooler temps. For most, it’s just the morning and evenings but having a pair of gloves to pull out of your handbag is always great! Leather is my top recommendation as they’ll go with everything and give off a very chic vibe.
