First things, first…did you notice Louella Reese received a little makeover over the weekend? You may have noticed I’ve changed up my aesthetic a bit {aka a lot} over the last month. With the change, I felt the old look of Louella Reese no longer aligned with my brand and where I want to take my brand. Therefore, the new look was created! I still have some tweaking to do but overall, I am loving it thus far. What are your thoughts? Comment on today’s post and let me know if you’re loving the new look.
Now, onto today’s post. Due to something exciting happening tomorrow, I’m switching things up a bit and sharing a look today. I also,think Monday could always use a little brightening and what brightens a Monday more than the beach? And a fabulous item for your spring/summer wardrobe that’s under $60! The title of this post kind of ruins it haha but this denim skirt is under $60. It is also one of those spring trends you need in your wardrobe, for so many reasons!

So, why do you need a denim skirt in your wardrobe?
It’s comfortable
Wearing a denim skirt is like wearing your favorite worn in pair of cutoffs. Just a little more feminine! I wore mine for a full day of exploring Carolina Beach and Wilmington. The whole day I was comfy and thankful I opted for the denim skirt over my chino shorts.
Can be dressed up or dressed down
This is probably the biggest reason as to why you need a denim skirt in your wardrobe! You can dress it town with flats and a basic white tee shirt. Or dress it up with a silk or statement blouse and pumps. Or play somewhere in the middle as I did with today’s look. A preppy blouse and chic loafers. You’ll definitely find there are endless ways to wear a denim skirt and you’ll be reaching for it more times then not!
It’s fun
Let’s be honest, you had one in middle/high school {maybe even elementary school}. A denim skirt is totally 90s and what’s more fun then reliving those younger days? This time, you’ll look a little more stylish though. No double popped collared shirts tucked in with a pooka shell necklace. Yes, I wore this combo in middle school. I went through a preppy/surfer phase. It was all Hollister’s and Blue Crush‘s fault.
