Sharing my first look from Cataloochee Ranch and quite excited to show off some ranch weekend style!

As mentioned in yesterday’s post, I was ridiculously excited when packing for a weekend at the Cataloochee Ranch in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. I seriously had the BEST time putting looks together and picking out what to wear for our long weekend living the ranch life. Therefore, I’m thrilled to be sharing the first look from our trip. I went all out western for this one!
After recently picking up a denim skirt, I knew it had to come with me. The item was perfect for the weekend and ended up being worn twice. For today’s look, I paired it with this super comfy, lightweight tie front shirt from Madewell. If you don’t have a short-sleeve button down in your life, you need to add one ASAP! They’re so perfect for warmer days!
To play into the ranch vibes a little more, I added this felt cowboy hat and suede booties.
Okay, a little side story on this hat. I picked it up in Nashville the summer before Joshua and I got married {so almost two years ago}. Wore it twice for blog photos {here and here} and that was it. Joshua always tries to convince me to wear it to country concerts and Coyote Joe’s but I always pass. However, I knew it was a good purchase and I’d be SO happy to have it one day. Well this past weekend was that time! Now, I’m truly obsessed with it and may just use any excuse possible to wear it!
And with that said, if you don’t have a cowboy hat, I kind of think you need one. They’re SO much fun to wear!!

This look was worn for our first afternoon at the ranch. We explored the property and had fun playing in the sun! As you can see I was brought back to younger years by the fields of dandelions and spent a good 10+ minutes blowing the seeds off of the flowers. Joshua took quite possibly the funniest photos of me trying to do so. For some reason these were tough ones and a lot of effort was needed to blow the seeds off of the stem.
