Styling my favorite skirt from fall and turning it into the perfect summer gingham maxi skirt!

I know this is so basic but I seriously cannot believe that today is the 19th of June. Like WHAT?! Where in the heck did the first part of June go? The first official day of Summer is in two days {even though temps have been in the summer range since the last week of May} and before we know it, it’ll be July 4th. Crazy!
Anyways, I just had to have a moment to talk about how fast everything is moving. Now, onto today’s post…if you’ve been following along with Louella Reese for awhile, you’ve seen this skirt a couple of times. Most recently, here and here. Before that, I originally shared it here. While I loved the skirt in the fall/winter, I am madly in love with it now. Truly, I cannot stop wearing it! It’s one of those items that goes with SO many things and completely steals the show every time while not being overwhelming! Aka total win of a piece!

Today, I am styling the skirt for a summer date night or brunch with your family or gal pals. Just like the skirt, this look is pretty versatile and could be worn to so many different events. Pairing it with this sweet white button down {last seen here} really plays up the southern and sweet feel of the skirt. I of course, also had to throw on my favorite shoes {also, I think they’re the shoes of summer 2018}. Which made the skirt the perfect length and kept it from dragging on the floor.
Size reference: I am 5’4” and 128lbs {honest weight}. With flats the skirt drags just a bit.
