Have you ever had an item on your wardrobe wish list for years? Then purchased the item and wondered WHAT took you so long? Well, that recently happened to me with this BlankNYC suede moto jacket. I swear I had it on my wardrobe wish list for about two years before I finally pulled the trigger. It’s a bit of an investment, not a crazy one but any means but a little more than a typically spend for jacket.
Impulse worry was real too. I wasn’t sure if it was an implies. If I just wanted the jacket because I saw so many other bloggers and celebrities styling it. But after about two years on the list and seeing the prettiest blush hue, I pulled the trigger. Once I pulled that jacket on, I immediately asked myself, “why did you wait to so long?” – you’ve been there, right?
Good news! It wasn’t an impulse buy – I love the jacket and have worn it a ton already. AND it is totally worth the small investment. The jacket is quality, warm, and you instantly feel 10 levels cooler when you’re wearing it.
So with that said, I decided to create a list of four fall jackets you need. From every day wear to dressier times. Plus an additional “jacket” that’s uber popular this season and I’m classifying as a jacket because you totally can wear it as one.
Four Fall Jackets You Need
Suede Moto Jacket
Obviously, this is my top pick for the season as it’s my new favorite. I’ve also realized how versatile the jacket is. Easy to dress up or down with a variety of looks for a variety of occasions. Wear over dresses for fall date nights or with jeans and tee for the tailgate.
Denim Jacket
Always a must. Really any season of the year but come fall, a denim jacket looks great layered over sweaters, dresses, and turtlenecks. Or layered under additional jackets or coats. I love wearing mine under this sweater blazer.
Utility Jacket
The perfect casual jacket when you want to switch things up from your go to denim jacket. While also allowing you to add a little color to your look. Most are available in olive green or khaki. Personally, I am all about the olive green.
Plaid Jacket
A very popular pattern this season. Whether you neutrals or rich fall hues, you’ll find yourself reaching for this jacket more often then not. Providing a little extra warmth for cooler, crisp fall days.
Bonus: Oversized Blazer
Blazers are huge this season and they can easier be worn as a jacket. Therefore, they’re receiving an honoary mention on this list. My recommendation is to grab one in a solid you will wear often (navy, black, camel, olive). If you want a little more excitement, opt for one in plaid, houndstooth, or buffalo check. All of those preppy patterns are very in right now and perfect for the fall season.
