Winter arrived here in Charlotte a couple of weeks ago then left, only to be returning this evening! And to be honest, I’m pretty happy about it. Even though I’m totally not a winter gal, I love experience a little of the season. Especially if there is snow involved and that just might be happening this weekend. Fingers ultra crossed!
So if you’re in the South it’s finally time for a winter coat, if you’re in the North, you’ve probably been wearing one for weeks. And everyone else, you may be somewhere in between or experiencing one or the other. No matter what you’re experiencing, a great winter coat is a definite must have. Whether you wear it daily or only when you go on trips. So today I’m breaking down – how to find the perfect one for you, my favorite spots to purchase one, and some options!

How to Find a Great Winter Coat
In late 2018, I shared a post on my honest review of Rent the Runway Unlimited. I talked about using it at the start of seasons or when you’re really looking for an item but need to try a variety of styles. Finding a great winter coat would be the perfect time to try out the service. You could try up to four at a time and see how often you wear each one. Which one your reach for more often. Therefore, showing you, what works best for you and what you’d wear more often.
Wear to Purchase a Great Winter Coat
Well, one if you try out Rent the Runway Unlimited, you can actually purchase the items. So if you find a coat you absolutely love – you can purchase it and actually receive a discounted price.
Aside from Rent the Runway Unlimited, I typically find myself purchasing coats from Nordstrom, J.Crew, and Anthropologie. The items they carry are quality and last year after year. I have two coats from J.Crew that I have had for over 3 years and they still look almost brand new. As far as Nordstrom, my mom purchased me a coat in high school that I still have – that good!
These stores also have wide selections – puffer coats, trench coats, top coats, peacots, parkas, and so many more!

I honestly cannot get over how stunning this coat is! The entire outfit is just beautiful! I sometimes forget that RTR includes more of the practical pieces – and not just gowns or special occasion items. I need to utilize their program more often!

I hope you got some snow this weekend! If I’m being honest, I’m not a winter girl. I hate the cold and feeling bundled up. This is a gorgeous coat though!
