There’s one color combination I find myself reaching for season after season, year after year, blue and white. The color combination is always a good idea, no matter what the season is. It is classic, easy to pull together, and always leaves you looking perfectly put together. Come spring and summer I find myself reaching for the combination even more. Something about it is fresh, crisp, and a little beachy. Example, this linen knit top and scalloped hem jeans. Oh and you can’t forget my go to straw hat – in navy!
This look is perfect for spring and/or summer weekends. Casual, easy, and very comfortable! This is the type of look I typically wear on the weekends or even out and about for meetings and events during the week.

Let’s talk about the most feminine piece of today’s look – these scalloped hem jeans. Is that hem not the cutest little detail you’ve ever seen on a pair of jeans? I love the way the hem transforms these jeans from being typical straight leg jeans to feminine and playful. They pair perfectly with a simple top (such as the top I’m wearing) and loafers for an easy, casual look.
They would also look great a little more casual with white sneakers and your favorite graphic tee. Or dressed up with a pretty blouse and high heel sandals. Never knew you needed scalloped hemmed jeans until today, did you? Trust me, I didn’t know either till I spotted these in J.McLaughlin’s lookbook.

Now I could go on and on about my straw hat or wicker handbag but let’s be honest, I’ve probably talked your ear off about both enough already! So let’s chat about the loafers. While I’ve had these for years, I still find myself reaching for them come spring and summer. Still one of my favorite pairs of shoes. They’re a little different, which I think is what keeps me reaching for them. Not to mention insanely comfortable and breathable.
If you don’t have a pair of loafers for the spring + summer seasons I highly recommend picking up a pair. They look perfect styled with jeans (as seen in today’s post) as well as with dresses and skirts (styled for everyday, dressed up for an ultra feminine look).
