WHERE I WENT

Dunwoody, GA – I won’t go into too much detail here as I wrote a full post on our trip to Dunwoody, GA. However, I will say we had the most amazing time and could not recommend a weekend there more. Such a fun spot and so much to do, see, and places to eat!

Raleigh, NC – I spent five days in Raleigh, NC in mid-June due to the arrival of my second niece. My mom and I went to see the newest member of the family – Sophie Grace, as well as to help out with her big sister, Annamarie Faith. It was wonderful having the chance to spend that time with family and hopefully help ease the transition for my sister and her husband a little bit.

Lake Norman – We spent the weekend on the lake with Joshua’s parents two weekends ago. Well not really on the lake minus a sunset cruise Friday night, which was beautiful! It was my sister-in-law and future brother-in-law’s wedding shower. So we helped to set up, take down and all of that jazz. It was a super fun night and definitely a successful party in my opinion! Cannot wait for their wedding in October!

MOVIES WATCHED

Yesterday – Last week I had the opportunity to see an early screening of Yesterday and absolutely loved it! I’m not sure it would have been a movie I would have watched if I hadn’t been invited however really surprised me. I found myself giggling quite often and having a smile on my face as the story unfolded. Definitely a movie I would recommend going to see! A great date night movie!

RECIPES TRIED

Three recipes with Fage yogurt – all in line with FASTer Way to Fat Loss. All are high in protein and very satisfying!

WHERE WE ATE

Sullivan’s Steakhouse (2x) – Joshua and I had the opportunity experience Sullivan’s Steakhouse for the first time when we were invited for a media night in early June. We had the most wonderful experience and could not say enough about the food. Every single thing was amazing! From the salads to the filet mignon + cowboy steak to the key lime pie for dessert. Their cocktails are also out of this world!

We went back this past weekend to experience their brunch. YUM!!! I had their hazelnut french toast and oh my goodness y’all – SO GOOD! We will definitely be going back for brunch again soon. I want to try their lump crab cake benedict.

Popbar in NoDa – Morgan and I met here in early June to try out some of their gelato pops and additional treats. We were both over the top excited to try them and they did not disappoint at all! Never knew I needed gelato pops in my life on a regular basis but now I do. I opted for vanilla bean gelato pop dipped in dark chocolate and covered with coconut + rainbow sprinkles. It was a winning combination. I would HIGHLY recommend stopping into their shop this summer. A gelato pop is the perfect hot summer day treat.

WP Kitchen & Bar – This is one of my favorite spots in Charlotte. My mom and I have been going here for years on our little mother daughter dates. Their hummus and flatbreads are our absolute favorite! This time I met a girl friend and introduced her to the spot. I think she loved it just as much as my mom and I do!

8.2.0 Pizzeria – Met one of my besties here for trivia night last Wednesday. The theme was 90s and we thought we were going to rock it – NOPE. We totally bombed! However we very much enjoyed our wine + charcuterie board. On Wednesdays not only do they have trivia but also two glasses of wine (or sangria) plus a charcuterie board for $20 – such a good deal!

WHAT I WATCHED

So we discovered a third season of Designated Survivor and were quite excited! However, we aren’t liked it as much. The show is now being directed by Netflix and contains way too much unnecessary cussing – especially for this series, just seem to fit it. Finished up Dynasty and am already itching for the next season, it is so bananas and so good! Riverdale season three finally hit Netflix and while I was quite psyched for it, it isn’t holding up to my expectations or past seasons in my opinion. Season three is quite weird and SUPER dark. But hoping it picks up! If you watch the series, what are your thoughts on season three?

Always such a bummer when a TV series turns very dark- I gave up a few I had been watching last year due to that happening in newer seasons! Sounds like June was a great month though. I love and miss Popbar so much!
