January 2020 Recap

Sharing my January 2020 recap – including several new purchases, movies to watch (and skip), and my favorite restaurant in Charlotte!

Louella Reese January 2020 Recap

WHAT I BOUGHT

spa headbands – love using them when washing my face or doing a face mask
neutral notebook planner
weekly desktop planner
badrot maxi tulle dress  – returned, loved the off the shoulder style but not the largest fan of the skirt
maxi dress with sequin and floral beading – a little too low-cut for me but oh my goodness soo gorgeous

FOR THE HOME

Leaning Bookshelf

WHERE I WENT

HOME  – we stayed home again all month and I have to say I loved it! Especially knowing the travel that’s about to occur February-July. Get ready y’all we are going places!

MOVIES WATCHED

We actually didn’t watch any movies this month. We stayed busy and also watched our shows – see below

RECIPES TRIED

My new favorite low-carb dinner recipe: Beef Stuffed Zucchini Boats – chatted about them in yesterday’s blog post

WHERE WE ATE

Belmont Cocktail Club – Joshua and I went here on a whim one night to celebrate something exciting! We did discover it is in fact a great place to grab a cocktail (hence the name) but not necessarily the best spot for grabbing a meal. We kicked things off with the baked pimento cheese which was incredible! For our meal, we opted for the grilled fig panini, pork belly confit, and the Italian panini. All pretty good, just not overwhelmingly great or filling.

Nellie’s Southern Kitchen – yet again! We absolutely love this place.

Lincoln Street Kitchen & Cocktails – Joshua and I had the opportunity to try out Lincoln Street’s brunch menu the last weekend in January. Six courses of deliciousness! We both left very full, very satisfied. This spot has turned into one of my favorites since having the opportunity to try their dinner menu prior to their October 2019 opening. I would highly recommend this spot for date night or brunch with the friends.

WHAT I WATCHED

We finished all three seasons of The Marvelous Mrs. Mazel – we both were completely hooked and could not get enough of it. We are definitely hoping season four comes out sooner rather than later. Also, dove back into This Is Us, Riverdale, and Dynasty. This Is Us has been soooo intense and it has me captivated for sure. Dynasty is better than ever and I live for ever episode. Riverdale is just okay and I’m honestly contemplating dropping it. Eeek!

FITNESS UPDATE

Still all about FWTFL and have been able to get back to all of the workouts! Which has been absolutely wonderful and definitely helping me get back into the shape I was in before my knee injury last year. I’ve also started yoga and ohhh is my body, mind, and spirit happy. I’ve had it before and I’ll say it again again again, yoga is good for the soul! So happy to be doing it regularly again.

Thanks for reading my January 2020 Recap. Take a look back a previous monthly recaps here
