1-light schoolhouse pendant light | two piece wicker basket set | distressed clay pot planter (set of four) | sponge dish | woven dish cloth set (set of four) | metal sponge holder | white kitchen canister set (set of three) | cream and gray rug (2×4 size) | premium rug pad – all c/o Joss & Main

I have shared several posts featuring our kitchen but this is the first time I’m sharing the space styled! Our kitchen is off-white, filled with natural light, and basically how my ideal kitchen would look. It was just in need of a little something extra to add some additional character and make it our own. With limited wall space, there isn’t too much to do there. To add the character and personality we were after that meant adding countertop decor and a fabulous light pendant! So I wanted to share a few kitchen decor finds – ones you could use around the sink and/or on your kitchen island.

Once it was decided to add some decor to our kitchen, I immediately headed to Joss & Main’s site! My go to spot for all things home decor. The first piece I picked out was this 1-light schoolhouse pendant light in oil rubbed bronze with a milk glass shade. I fell in love with the modern farmhouse feel it provided. Plus the oil rubbed bronze perfectly matches our kitchen hardware. The pendant light is height-adjustable meaning it can easily fit in several different spots. Imagine two of these over your kitchen island – so beautiful! If you’re currently searching for the perfect pendant light to hang over your island and/or above your sink, I would start here.

In my opinion, every kitchen needs a rug. Even it’s a small 2×3 or 2×4 rug. The small addition adds so much warmth to the space and immediately adds a cozier, more lived in feel. To compliment the pendant light, I chose this cream/gray area rug in a 2×4 size. The neutral color palette aligns well with the rest of the space while the pattern and small pops of blue add some excitement. I will say this rug is even more beautiful in person – the colors are richer and the pop of blue is more apparent. For additional comfort, while doing dishes, I added a premium rug pad. It is amazing and 100% a must in my opinion!

Additional decor that would amazing atop a kitchen counter or across your kitchen island includes a distressed clay pot planter, woven dish cloth set, and white kitchen canister set. Along with a rug, I believe every kitchen needs a little greenery! These adorable distressed clay pot planters add a great touch of character while still being neutral. Pro tip: stop by Trader Joe’s for a $1.99 plant to place inside your distressed clay pot planter(s). And we all know no kitchen is complete without several dish cloths! As for my personal favorite, this white kitchen canister set. While being so simple the set makes such an impact in the kitchen. We have ours at the end of our island and I absolutely love how they look! I’m pretty sure I have said, “gosh they are so cute” about a 100x times since receiving them.

A couple of additional items I found while searching for the perfect kitchen pendanttwo piece wicker basket set, sponge dish, and metal sponge holder. All such simple items but oh my goodness have they made an impact! Both aesthetically and organizationally. Adult life is when you get excited about a sponge holder! And honestly, I love it!
