“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be troubled…” – John 14:27

This verse really spoke to me this week as I was incredibly sick with a cold. My body was worn down, exhausted and it was all my fault. I allowed myself to be overcome with stress and anxiety. I wasn’t giving my body or MIND the relaxation it needed and deserved. I was running myself ragged for weeks and it finally caught up with me. I honestly had nothing left in me! From doing this I got just about the worst cold I’ve ever had {no need for details here but it was not pretty!}.

I, like others, stress myself silly! I stress about things I have ZERO control over and those items I do have control over, I still stress even after completing the task sometimes. Between that a running around like a crazy person for work, blogging events, and wedding planning ran my body till it crashed. Therefore taking my first sick day in over a year!

I needed it though! This gave me the downtime I needed to one get better and two relax my body and mind. I laid in bed for hours {and hours and hours} which gave me lots of time to reflect. I realized, I need to indulge in the peace God provides far MORE often! When you spend time in your bible or praying to {and with} God you are overcome with peace. Your mind is freed of stress because you have given it to Him and in return He has given you peace.

The world gives you stress, anxiety, pressure, and troubles while He gives you peace, love, strength, and comfort. It is God that you need to spend time with when you’re stressed not your to do list. He will help you find the peace you need to get your mind right and complete the tasks that truly need to be completed.
