So if you know me in any way you know that I’m seriously obsessed with Oreos. It’s NEVER possible for me to have just one. It’s usually a whole row. I love them the traditional way; twisted, a bite of the cream filling, put back together, and then dunked in milk. But I love mixing them into some of my favorite recipes even more! I’ve tried slutty brownies {is there anything more sinful and incredible?}, Fluff cupcakes filled with Oreos {may be sharing this on the blog soon!}, Oreos mixed into brownies and chocolate, and red velvet cake brownies with cookies and cream frosting + chocolate ganache {find recipe here}.
This past week we had a cook out at work and everyone was suppose to bring a side or dessert to contribute. Obviously I chose to bring a dessert 😉 and I wanted to try something a little new. I knew the event was outside and it’d be crazy warm {it’s now in the 80s here} so I needed something that wouldn’t melt immediately. I decided to mix two childhood classics – rice krispie treats and Oreos. The combo is incredible!! Add a little browned butter and chocolate drizzle for a little “grown-up” touch. Your inner child and current grown up self will thank you for giving these treats a try!

Spray with nonstick cooking spray and set aside
Break up 1/2 of the Oreos into big chunks
Crush the remaining Oreos

In a medium sized sauce pan melt butter until browned
As soon as the butter starts to brown remove from stove
Add the marshmallows
Using a rubber spatula and stir
Place back on the stove on low heat and stir until completely melted
Pour marshmallow mixture over the cereal and Oreo combo
Stir gently until completely combined
Pour mixture into aluminum lined pan and pat until it’s an even layer
