I am so excited to share with y’all how I asked my bridesmaids to be a part of Joshua and I’s big day! “Proposing” to my bridesmaids was something I was really looking forward too. I had so many ideas spinning around in my head of what to do and how to pop the question. The tough part was two of my bridesmaids live in New Jersey therefore I wouldn’t be able to hand deliver anything to them. Ultimately I decided a surprise box full of goodies was the way to go!
Champagne was a MUST! If you know me at all you know I love a fabulous glass of champagne and mimosas are a have to have item anytime brunch is served. Therefore I knew a mini bottle of champagne had to be included in the box. Plus it’s the perfect celebratory drink! I picked out my personal favorite, Freixenet. Which by the way, is incredible and so perfectly priced!
Next up was adding a sweet treat. You didn’t think this gal could ask her girl friends to stand by her side without something sweet, did you? No way! In college we use to have Gossip Girl viewing parties, each week someone was in charge of baking an indulgent dessert. By the end of the episode everything was gone {aka usually after the first 30 minutes}. I wanted something that would travel well and still look incredibly cute when they opened their box. So I of course took to Pinterest and found these adorable mason jar cakes. I went with the classic devil’s food cake with homemade cream cheese frosting. I had way too much fun making these!
The adorable straws are from Target and the labels + twine are from Hobby Lobby. I am truly obsessed with the tags on the mason jars. I definitely see myself making these cute things again really soon for another event or someone’s birthday!
Finally a ring pop was necessary! Just to add a little humor to the package. I thought it was a cute little touch and I knew my girl friends would get a good giggle out of it. Not to mention who doesn’t love ring pops? They take me back to the days I use to pretend my prince charming popped the question and I was princess bride haha. Who’s with me on that one?
The hardest part of putting these boxing together for my bridesmaids was finding the right size/color box and the filling for inside. The struggle was so real y’all! I went to 5 or 6 different stores until I finally found what I was looking for. All hail Hobby Lobby!
While finding the right items to package the goodies may have been tough, I had the absolute best time putting everything together for my girls. They all mean so much to me and I wanted to do a little something sweet to let them know how excited I am to have them by my side!
If you’re in the process of asking your bridesmaids I definitely recommend taking a look at Pinterest and also thinking back on things y’all did together. I knew I wanted the boxes to have meaning and while my initial idea {having macarons and champagne like Blair from Gossip Girl} didn’t work out {due to the boxes needing to be sent} the sweet treat still represented a great tradition we all had!

OMG, when did you redesign your site? It looks so good! Also this is the most adorable way to ask ever, I would have loved getting this package from a bride!
