Best Restaurants in Charlotte

Five Best Restaurants Charlotte.

We all look forward to the weekend and meals out with family, friends, or our significant others right? So why not kick off Monday with the five best restaurants in Charlotte {in my opinion}. After reading you can go ahead and start planning for your weekend if you’re in the Charlotte area. Or if you’re visiting Charlotte soon, you’ll now know where you need to stop and grab a bite. In the city we’re so lucky to have endless restaurant options. Which can also be incredibly overwhelming. You know that conversation you have with your family, friends, or significant other where you try to figure out where the heck to eat?! You just go on and on with different places. Then the decision becomes too hard. While Joshua and I definitely do that a lot, we have a couple restaurants that have become our go to spots.

So pull up a seat and let’s talk about those restaurants. The ones Joshua and I would say are the BEST restaurants in the Charlotte area.

Midwood Smokehouse {Plaza Midwood Neighborhood, Ballantyne, & Matthews} – Every southern town has a variety of BBQ places, there’s always one that’s the best, right? Well Midwood Smokehouse is Charlotte’s BEST. This is where you go when you want a true southern meal + seriously indulge. There’s nothing light about the items on Midwood’s menu. Hands down the have to have item on their menu is their pimento cheese fries with BBQ. Y’all these are beyond sinful but oh so worth it! Just bring a couple with you to share. View the rest of their incredible menu here.

Cabo Fish Taco {NoDa Neighborhood} – Cabo combines coastal Mexican cuisine with a unique healthy California feel. When I first went to Cabo Fish Taco I thought I had died and gone to Mexican food heaven. Truly the BEST I had ever had {this still stands}. From their homemade salsa to their fresh margaritas to the best tortillas you’ve ever tasted. From start to finish, Cabo Fish Taco does not disappoint. I always say I’ll try something new but instead I stay true to my pomegranate margarita, grilled Serrano chicken tacos with white cilantro sauce, and black beans + rice. Be prepared to drool after viewing this menu.

Luna’s Living Kitchen {South End Neighborhood} – An organic, plant-based, and mostly raw restaurant. When you’re looking to be healthy, feel good about what you eat, and walk away with a satisfied stomach Luna’s is the place for you!  Whether it’s a clean juice to start your morning or a living burrito and kale salad to finish your day! Or indulge the right way with Luna’s milk & cookies {they’re amazing}. Unique tasty menu here.

The Cellar at Duckworth’s  {uptown Charlotte} – Charlotte’s best kept secret. As you walk in your feel as though you’re sneaking away to a secret society meeting or old school speak easy. Once you lay eyes on the beer + cocktail menu the feeling only continues to grow. They have a wide range of unique beers and signature cocktails handcrafted by their mixologists. A great date night spot! After your cocktails, put together a cheese + charcuterie plate and try out several of their small plates. The caramelized brussels, hand cut truffle fries, and Mediterranean flatbread are favorites of ours. Leroy Fox {Cotswold neighborhood} – a mix old southern values with contemporary vibes. A place to catch up with friends, date night with your beau, or watch a game with the gang. This spot is perfect for all occasions. And the food isn’t any different. From indulging in classic southern dishes such as shrimp & grits or a BBQ plate to unique dishes like buffalo chicken nachos and catfish BLT. My personal go to is the vegetarian black bean wrap with sweet potato tater tots. These tots are a MUST try item! So if they don’t come with your meal, order a side or snag some off the person next to you. Joshua loves the fried chicken and waffles {yum}. Check out the menu here.

I’d love to hear your favorite restaurants in the Charlotte area if you’re from here or have visited. Comment below and share with everyone!
