If y’all follow me on snapchat {lauraleighlou} then you witnessed some incredible food Thursday night. I may have watched the snap video multiple times Friday wishing I could go back and eat everything again! I had the luxury along with some other blogger babes {Summer from Simple Stylings & Chrissie from Off The Eaten Path} to cook + dine at Village Tavern. What an amazing and delicious experience! Seriously y’all their chef Mary Grace is the absolute cutest and beyond talented. She welcomed us to the restaurant with drinks from their craft bar and a little cooking tutorial. We whipped up their famous dip duo of pimento cheese and guacamole + pimento cheese deviled eggs. Pimento cheese is something I’ve always wanted to learn to make as I feel every southern gal needs that skill under her belt ;). After sipping champagne and creating some appetizers to munch on while enjoying their string light filled patio over looking symphony park we headed inside to really indulge!

This is where the party really started. There was dish after dish brought to our table from their scratch kitchen. Each one more exciting and tasty then the next {all though we didn’t think that was possible after each bite}. Our menu for the evening consisted of after the Dip Duo and Pimento Cheese Deviled Eggs…Thai Chicken Nachos, Bacon-Wrapped Scallops, Cubano Sliders, Habana Mexican-Style Grilled Corn, Tavern Flatbread, Mushroom and Goat Cheese Flatbread, The Tavern Salad, Thai Chicken Salad, Hong Kong-Style Chilean Sea Bass, Filet Mignon, Pork Belly Tacos, Firecracker Shrimp Tacos, Tavern Burger, Santa Fe Burger, Double-Decker Cheesecake, Key Lime Pie, Macadamia Nut Brownie, and Warm Butter Cake.

Yes I tasted all of these items and yes I really was in the most incredible food coma you could imagine! While honestly every single one of these dishes blew me away and impressed my palate. There were a few that really stood out and I can’t wait to go back and eat again! Here’s what my perfect menu would be for my next time at Village Tavern or for when y’all go to check it out. Appetizer: Cubano Sliders and Thai Chicken Nacos, Main Course: Pork Belly Tacos or Filet Mignon, Dessert: Key Lime Pie and Warm Butter Cake. Notice I said and for the dessert part, you absolutely need to try both of these! I am a huge fan of Key Lime Pie and Mary Grace knocked this one out of the park. The crust is absolute perfection. While the Warm Butter Cake is honestly just too good to even try to explain. This was one of those items where we all kept going back for more!
