Sharing five items on my summer 2018 bucket list that I’m hoping to cross off over the next few months!

So again, I know that summer hasn’t officially begun however, I see Memorial Day weekend as the unofficial start to summer. Therefore, I’ve put together my Summer 2018 Bucket List and am ready to start crossing items off! Summer always passes so fast and this year I want to make sure I make a couple of things happen and really enjoy all that the summer season has to offer. Who’s with me?
Of course go to the pool often and hit the beach at least once or twice are on my list. But to me those are super obvious ones and most likely on 99% of our summer buckets lists. Am I right? Therefore, I’m sharing ones that are a little different and maybe not quite so obvious {but probably are haha}.
READ AT LEAST One book per month
I use to be a HUGE reader! Starting and finishing a book every couple of weeks or a full one on vacation. However, the last couple of months {or if I’m being honest, almost a whole year} that has really come to a halt. So this summer I want to make it a goal to finish one book each month – June, July, and August. I’m proud to say I picked up this book from Amazon last week and am currently on Chapter 7 already. Woohoo!
TRAVEL
I would love to experience Wisconsin in the summer, visit Corbin in Austin, explore Tennessee, and plan one on a whim trip.
Joshua’s mom’s side of the family lives in Wisconsin. We visited a little over a year ago and I absolutely loved it. However, it was around Christmas time and it was FREEZING so I really want to experience it during warmer months. Luckily, this will be happening this summer as plans have been made and flights have been booked. Super looking forward to it!
Corbin was my first blogging friend ever and over the years we’ve stayed extremely close. Even after she moved thousand of miles away. She currently lives in Austin, Texas, a town I’ve always wanted to visit and with her being there, I want to go even more! So hopping to cross this off soon!
Tennessee has so many really fun little towns and places to visit so I am hoping to explore the state a little more this summer. Maybe into the fall too – as it is so hot in the summer!
Also, I would LOVE to plan one totally on the whim trip. And by plan, I mean not plan at all haha. Just decide one Friday night or Saturday morning that we’re going somewhere. Get in the car and go!
Plan Fun, Unique Blog Content
While it is SO hot and sticky to shoot in the summer {haha} I love summer content! It can be really fun and so beautiful with everything in full bloom. Therefore, again, I would like to take advantage of the season and shoot + put together lots of fun, unique content for y’all! Part of this is taking the time to really put the content together – scout locations, pick up necessary props + decor, and really plan out looks + what it is I want to feature.
p.s. if you have ideas of any posts/content you’d like to see here on Louella Reese this summer let me know! Comment below or email me at [email protected]
Take Advantage of Fresh Fruit & Vegetables
There are so many adorable little farmer’s markets in Charlotte filled with locally grown fruit & vegetables. And we need to take advantage of them! Last night we made a salad with some fresh fruit & vegetables we picked up this past weekend at the King’s Drive Farmer’s market and it was AMAZING! So I want to do that more often and also try a variety of recipes with the fresh produce. Like different variations for banana bread š see recent ones I’ve tried here and I’ll be sharing a blueberry banana bread recipe soon!

Visit the USNWC More Often
Here in Charlotte we have the U.S. National Whitewater Center and every Thursday-Saturday evenings they host River Jam. River Jam is live musical performances right in the middle of the worldās largest man-made whitewater river. The music is typically roots rock, americana, bluegrass, folk, and funk. Perfect for enjoying beautiful summer evenings and great local craft beer. We use to go all the time when we first started dating but last summer only made it about three times.
It is such a fun event and costs nothing except for the beer you drink, so it’s a great budget friendly activity. Therefore, I’m hoping to partake in it a lot more this summer. I am happy to say we’ve gone twice thus far!
