Fall Handbag Trends

With the cooler temperatures the last couple of days I’m off dreaming of changing leaves, cable knit sweaters, hot chocolate, and fall trends. Since it is my favorite season it really isn’t too hard for me to start daydreaming about it. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale added to this fall season dreaming quite a bit with the preview of some incredible items as well. I have to say I’m liking what fall fashion has in store!

This should come as no surprise that I chose to feature handbags in today’s post since they are my absolute favorite accessory. During the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I purchased what I know will be my fall and winter go to handbag (currently sold out but I’m sure it’ll be restocked soon!). I fell in love with it the second the box was opened!! Here are some of the top trends for the upcoming season. Hopefully you can find one you’re completely in love with too!

1. Major Metallic – whole handbags in gold, rose gold, silver, and bolder colors like blue or aqua

2. Fine Print – floral, abstract, bohemian, and more

3. All Over Embellishment – fur, beads, embroidery, wire, pom poms, basically anything you can think to stick on a bag seems to be hitting the runways

4. Backpack – no small ones here! This bag will allow you to call anything you could possibly ever need in basically any situation. I personally love the leather backpacks most but they seem to be coming in every color, pattern, and style this upcoming season. Drawstring, plaid, bucket, canvas, and the list goes on.

5. Animal Instincts  – leopard, snakeskin, bird print, calf hair – whether it’s a small detail on the straps of your bag or the entire bag, it’ll be on trend.

6. Pop of Color – pinks, blues, greens, yellows, oranges – which ever is your favorite will work!

7. Clutch – I have to say this is my favorite trend because I’m currently in love with clutches, they have definitely become my go to bag. Not to mention you can include almost all of the trends in clutch form as well. They clutches for fall seem to be of larger scale and include lots of detail, no minimalist look going on here.

I never thought I would fall in love with another mini backpack post-90s, but that Tory Burch is too gorgeous. Great picks!
