Guy Approved Bars

It’s a thing for me to bake some a crazy super tasty dessert for Joshua for his birthday, our anniversary, Valentine’s Day, and special date nights. Being the kind person that he is, he usually shares with his roommate and buds. Now they request desserts for their birthdays, cook outs, and basically any time we’re all together. Each time it’s like a challenge, I want to make something totally different. Two years ago I made these Chocolate Bacon Cookies that were a huge hit with the guys and since then our one friend has requested them or some other dessert with bacon in it. Well his birthday was this past week so I decided to make his {birthday} wish come true haha.

This dessert is absolutely the craziest concoction I have ever come up with. It’s basically an everything but the kitchen sink bar. Being that I’m not the biggest bacon fan {what’s wrong with me? I know, I know} I wanted to counteract the bacon a bit with other flavors. Lots of chocolate really because I mean chocolate is the best! So there’s bacon, dark chocolate, white chocolate, pretzels, potato chips, and caramel. So much flavor in one dish! It sounds crazy and I know you’re thinking that probably tastes really weird…but it doesn’t, at all! They are honestly one of my favorite things I have ever made. The birthday boy LOVED them. Even he would tell you that is a HUGE understatement haha. So they are very much guy approved and a tasty treat to surprise your boyfriend, hubby, friend, brother, or dad with! {Great little Valentine’s Day gift!}

Ingredients
8 strips of bacon
4 cups pretzels
1 stick of butter
3 tbsp sugar
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup crushed potato chips
1/4 cup caramel sauce

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Line a 7×11 baking dish with aluminum foil and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray
First, fry bacon until very crisp, turning often to make sure it cooks evenly
Once cooked placed on paper fowl to cool, then chop into small pieces
Place pretzels into a food processor and processor until chopped fine crumbs
In a small bowl combine pretzels, melted butter, and sugar
Mix until pretzels are completely moistened
Press mixture into the baking dish to create a crust/even layer
Sprinkle bacon, chocolate and white chocolate chips, peanut butter, and potato chips on top of pretzel crust
Pour caramel sauce evenly over the entire dish
Bake for 20-24 minutes {I did 22 minutes} you want the top to be golden brown and have a little bubbling around the edges of the dish
Cool on rack
Cut into squares
Enjoy!
