Luke 24:6 “He is not here; He has risen!”
Today is a day of celebration! There’s Easter egg hunts, coconut bunny cakes for dessert, visits to the Easter bunny at the mall, a brand new pastel {or floral} dress for Sunday morning, and baskets full of sugary goodies.
Easter has always been a favorite of mine! I remember waking up to “bunny tracks” starting at the foot of my bed to wherever my Easter basket was hiding. As my siblings and I became older, the “bunny tracks” dwindled and we were left with little clues as to where the baskets were. My dad played Easter bunny and had the best time finding sneaky little places to hide our baskets. It was one of our family traditions, one I absolutely loved and still cherish.
While all of that is extremely joyful and exciting, there is so much more to Easter. As a Christian this holiday has incredible meaning. It’s a day that we cannot wait to celebrate. Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Three days after being crucified so that our sins could be forgiven he rose. Today we are celebrating him, his love, and the forgiveness we receive daily from his incredible act. To me it’s a time that is filled with so much love and thankfulness. I can’t help but reflect on the love I feel from Him daily. I also reflect on all that I have been blessed with because of Him.
I hope you and yours have a wonderful Easter Sunday!
