Fall is one of the prettiest seasons of the year {if not prettiest} which makes it the perfect time to head outdoors and go on a date with your loved one! Grab some inspiration from some of my personal favorite fall date ideas!
Go for a Hike
Escape your busy life, the city, and enjoy some quiet time together exploring and working out! If you aren’t sure of any hiking trails close to you, you can use AllTrails.com to find one. Make a plan for one Saturday or Sunday this month or next to catch the fall foliage. Make sure to pack snacks too! If you only have a short amount of time or don’t feel like driving, take a walk around your neighborhood or a local greenway. Hiking + taking walks is a great way to relax and have quality conversations with your significant other. Hiking with Joshua is one of my favorite things to do! Especially in the fall season when the temperatures are cooler and the leaves are changing. Sometimes the views can be truly breathtaking!
Visit a Local Brewery
Test out a new brewery in your area and grab a flight or two to split. Have a little taste test and cast your vote on the best beer! If there’s outside seating, even better. You can soak up the cooler afternoon while enjoying quality time with your significant other and find a new favorite beer! If you need help finding a brewery or want to try on while on vacation, use CraftBeer.com. Which is basically a brewery finder. You can plug in your location or destination and local breweries will be listed.
Build a Bonfire
If you have the backyard for it, build a bonfire. Grab lots of blankets and pillows and snuggle up with your significant other. Drink apple cider {or spiked apple cider} and star gaze! What is better than being snuggled up next to your love on a chillier fall evening? Not a whole lot! Need some inspiration? Check out this adorable cozy bonfire. What about a recipe for spiked apple cider? Or some s’mores inspiration {16 different combinations}.
Pick Out Pumpkins + Visit a Corn Maze
I know, I know, this is so basic. Sometimes being basic is fun though. This is one of those times! Go to a pumpkin patch, pick out pumpkins, and have a pumpkin carving contest. Who can carve the best, most unique design? Sip apple cider while exploring the pumpkin patch and if they have them, definitely indulge in some pumpkin or apple cider donuts. You will not regret it!
If you’re lucky, some pumpkin patches also have corn mazes. While they sound silly, they’re so much fun to go through and figure out with your significant other. You’ll find out who has a better sense of direction {if you don’t already know} and most likely, lots of laughs too! Be sure to wear the right shoes, sometimes they can be muddy and you may be walking for an hour or so.
Have a Picnic
When was the last time you had a picnic? Probably not to recently {if you have, go you!}. Take some time to plan out a picnic menu {grab some inspiration here} and find a park near you {you can locate one here}. Having a picnic is the perfect way to enjoy fall’s gorgeous weather and take some time for just you and your loved one. Be extra sweet and pack some of their favorite treats! Joshua packed a picnic the day he proposed and included Oreo cookies, my absolute favorite sweet treat. Saying yes after that wasn’t too hard š
I need to get to a pumpkin patch asap!! And was that photo taken at the whitewater center?? I’m thinking about going there today!
xo, Kristina
