I realize we only have a couple more months of winter left {the rest of January, February, and March, for some} however, I wanted to share some of my Winter Wardrobe Must Haves! Now, is truly the time to buy them as so many items are going on sale. Including several of the items I’m featuring in today’s post. So YAY! These are items that are on trend right now and/or are great classics to have. These pieces can be worn for the next couple months and some of them, beyond that. I also believe that all of the items I am highlighting will be in style and top items again next Fall and Winter seasons. Therefore, picking them up now, while on sale, is pretty genius y’all!
So let’s dive right in, Winter Wardrobe Must Haves:
- Cape
- Fair Isle Sweaters
- Faux Fur Stoles {or scarf, if you want to call it that}
- Tissue Turtlenecks
- Tote for all occasions
Capes:
Surprisingly warm and so much fun to style! Capes have definitely received an update over the last couple of years and are chicer than ever! Coming out in beautiful patterns with even prettier details. Capes are great because you have the ability to layer {or not layer} as much as you want under them. They provide lots of space for turtlenecks, chambray, and sweaters. When you choose a thicker cape, it can provide a lot of warmth as well. This one is SO warm!
Fair Isle Sweaters:
A classic that has been a big trend year after year come the winter season. You’ll find them at L.L.Bean, J.Crew, Vineyard Vines, and the list goes on, every single year. With classic color combinations or funky colorful ones like the sweater featured in today’s post. I highly recommend having two to three of these sweaters in your winter wardrobe. Go with one or two in classic color combinations and one fun, colorful sweater.
Faux Fur Stoles:
This have been EVERYWHERE this year! I would say this winter season has been the biggest one for faux fur stoles in quite awhile. I also believe that next year, they will be just as big. If not bigger! A faux fur stole adds so much to a look. Quickly taking your look from simple {maybe even blah} to chic and fabulous! They’re offered at a variety of price points and colors + sizes. This pink one is SO much fun to wear as is the green one you see featured here and here.
Tissue Turtlenecks:
The most perfect piece for layering come fall and winter seasons! I’ve been collecting tissue turtlenecks for the last three fall and winter seasons. I could not recommend them more. Buying a couple in solid colors {navy, white, black, ivory, gray} are a must! Then, if you like to pattern play or plan on layering a solid sweater {or cape} over, grab a couple stripe ones.
Tote for all occasions:
Last year I used a gray tote almost all of winter {see it here and here} and this year, I find myself reaching for this blush bag more times then not. I’m sure you’ve noticed most of my outfit posts include it. Small crossbody bags and clutches are perfect for spring and summer but come fall and winter, we have more items to carry. We need a place to put our gloves and scarves once we get inside. As well as the lotion we have to carry so our hands don’t crack. Oh, and the hand sanitizer to keep away winter colds + flu. We have lots to carry and a small bag just won’t cut it! Therefore, a tote is necessary and having one that can go with both casual and dressier looks is a must!
your picks are so great! I love the tissue turtlenecks, they’re such great layering pieces. And I need that pink stole, ASAP!!
