Sharing what I packed for our ski weekend to Beech Mountain.
Joshua and I made it to Beech Mountain yesterday afternoon and are spending today skiing + exploring. It’s been almost two years since we both have skied and we are beyond excited to do so. Can’t wait to cruise down the mountain and up the lift with my cutie! Fun fact: I have skied since I was three years old – I actually hated it until about middle school. When I was a mini – I only cared about going inside for hot chocolate and m&m’s. I honestly plan to do this at least once this weekend haha.
We have completely lucked out in the weather department! It’s freezing cold – literally last night was only 9 degrees (like whoa). However, it is beautiful and sunny today. There is a chance of snow tonight and then it is for sure suppose to snow all day tomorrow, tomorrow night, and sunday! I cannot wait to be in a winter wonderland.
I honestly was hoping (prayers + fingers crossed) for all of the snow and winter weather! Therefore, I definitely planned for it. Aka I wanted to wear all of the mittens, scarves, and cozy layers. So my suitcase is full of those items! Below you’ll find everything I packed to wear.
boots
In my opinion, there are three pairs of shoes you HAVE to bring on a ski weekend (or mountain getaway) – all weather boots, rain boots, and slippers. My go to brands are Ugg and Hunter. While they’re a little pricier, I always think they are very much worth it! The quality is amazing and they couldn’t be more comfortable. Not to mention they last, year after year.
outerwear + tops
A winter coat is an absolute must! For skiing as well as wearing around as you explore the mountain town. Also, cozy sweaters to keep you warm and well…cozy! As you’ll see, I’m also all about Patagonia pullovers, jackets, and vests. Again, great quality products and they’re very cozy. The better sweater has been a staple of mine for over five year. However, this pullover is my all time favorite (last styled on Louella Reese for a fall beach trip).
bottoms
Kept things simple here – a great pair of jeans, comfortable leggings, and of course, ski pants. That’s all you really need right? Oh and pajama pants – I packed a pajama set (see them styled for a mountain weekend last year) – I’m obsessed with pajama sets. This is a similar set to what I’m bringing.
winter accessories
Okay these are my favorite items! Literally obsessed with mittens – my in-laws bought me the cutest pair for Christmas and this weekend is their premiere. Ski weekends call for cozy, oversized scarves and the cutest pom topped beanies! So you’ll find lots of those in my suitcase too!
I hope you’re having a wonderful Friday and that you have the best weekend! Stay tuned via Instagram throughout the weekend as I will share peeks into our ski weekend. There will definitely be lots Instagram stories for sure as well as a couple in feed Instagram photos. Be sure to comment below with any questions you have about Beech Mountain, visiting a ski resort, or what to bring! I’ll be putting together a recap post after our trip.
Ahhh have the best time babe!

I haven’t been skiing since high school! I was never a huge fan of it, and not good at it at all! So many great skiing clothes, I should give it another try.
I 100% understand that. I hated it when I was super littler and all through elementary school but started picking it up again and loving it in middle school. Definitely worth giving another shot!
