So let’s get right to it…
What is a Shacket & How to Style One
A shacket is a cross between a shirt and a jacket; a shirt-jacket. Get it? The piece is generally cut like a button-down shirt; being light enough to not look too wintery/heavy, but also heavy enough that there is no need for you to have a coat.
How to Style a Shacket
With a skirt
How I styled the piece here! Pairing a shacket with a top + skirt gives the overall look a more casual vibe. While also adding a touch of cool girl to your look. The piece is the perfect option when you don’t want to wear coat and are over wearing cardigans – it’s fun to spice things up here and there!
I personally love pairing the piece with a midi or maxi skirt and either tying around the waist (if it comes with a belt like the one I’m wearing in today’s post does) or belting with a classic brown leather belt.
Over a dress
Similar to pairing the piece with a skirt, pairing heavier shirt with a dress will provide a more casual look. While also providing an additional layer of warmth. A shacket is a great way to extend the life of your summer dresses!
Again, love it paired with midi and maxi length dresses.
With Jeans/Pants
If you want to go ultra casual pair the trendy piece with your favorite pair of denim or straight leg pants. An easy combination that’s a little different than you’re typical jeans + sweater fall go to. Layer a lighter top underneath – tank, short sleeve, or long sleeve, if it’s chillier.

I like your shacket! As far as the trend goes, the solid color shackets look the most sophisticated for my tastes. All shackets are so easy to throw on, love it! xo Jaimie http://www.jaimietucker.com
I have a couple of shacket’s in flannel and they’re so comfortable and cozy. Plus they go with everything!
