Top Skincare Recommendations for Your New Year Skincare Routine

Top Skincare Recommendations for Your New Year Skincare Routine | Louella Reese

After receiving lots of questions from my friends & followers via Instagram about skincare product recommendations for the new year, I decided to put a post together for reference. I figured if so many of them had questions, you may as well! The start of a new year is the perfect time to update your skincare routine, step it up, or truly build a skincare routine. Below you will find my top recommendations to build a new year skincare routine – products I have used for several weeks or months and highly recommend!

New Year Skincare Routine: Top Skincare Recommendations

I have a few cleansers I use regularly – all of which are gentle and ideal for those with sensitive skin.

For morning and night, I initially use this exfoliating jelly cleanser on my dry skin. After cleansing with that I go back and double cleanse with this bar cleanser.

When wearing make-up, I initially cleanse with this melting cleanser balm and then follow for a double cleanse with the bar cleanser.

Peel Pads:

I use these Biomimetic Peel Pads 3-4x per week after cleansing in the evening- they work to smooth and re-texturize the surface of your skin without irritation. They also gently remove dead skin cells to help clear and reduce the visibility of pores and the appearance of spots.

When you initially start using you want to start with one use per week and work your way up to 5-6x per week.

Overnight Mask:

I apply this lotus glow cleansing balm before bed and I actually sleep in it overnight! With a blend of lotus extract, jojoba seed oil, and avocado seed oil, the balm soothes and destresses skin while increasing luminosity.

I have also used this overnight mask recently. While I like it, I LOVE the lotus glow cleansing balm.

Under Eye Serum:

One of my favorite products – this under eye serum not only instantly cools and awakens dull skin it also works to fight dark circles and depuff while lifting & smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. It’s a wonder serum!

Facial Oil:

Did you know your body natural produces squalene oil? An oil that naturally moisturizes your skin. Peak production occurs in your teens. BUT in your late 20s your production starts to dramatically decrease. Which results in rougher, drier skin. If you’re in your late 20s or beyond, I would immediately purchase this squalene facial oil. The change you will start to see almost immediately is incredible! Truly a must have product!

I use everyday this both in the morning and evening.

Probiotic Ceramide Serum:

Hands down one of my favorite skincare finds of 2020 – these milk drops and extremely lightweight while being jam-packed with essential ceramides, squalane, hyaluronic acid, and plant enzymes to invigorate dull skin, giving you major radiance.

I use this both in the am and pm.

I use this moisturizer both in the morning and evening – it is the best moisturizer I have ever tried and truly, my skin has never been happier! The moisturizer restores skin’s healthy hydration for a more youthful appearance while also helping to control oily skin and keep your skin balanced. Additionally, boosts skin health and fights dullness for a beautiful radiance.

Another favorite skincare find of 2020. This sunscreen not only protects you from UVA rays but also the blue light your computer and phone puts out. As well as pollution. Plus it provides a beautiful glow!

These are great recommendations! I’m such a skincare fanatic and I can’t believe that I haven’t heard of some of these! SPF is definitely my number one! And facial oils are sooo good, even as someone that has oily skin.
