WHERE I WENT
HOME.
MOVIES WATCHED
1917 – This is said to be one of the most realistic war movies. In terms of how life was in the trenches. To be honest, it was a bit much for me at times but I also appreciated getting to see a very realistic view of what these men went through. The movie follows two British soldiers as they are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers. It is VERY intense at times and quite the amazing accomplishment. I will say it is very long so be ready for a commitment when you sit down to watch this.
RECIPES TRIED
Spicy Grapefruit Margaritas
Turkey Meatballs – Joshua made these
WHERE WE ATE
Indaco – I have chatted about this restaurant before in a previous monthly recap. Joshua and I dined here once prior to the quarantine and absolutely loved it! Definitely became a new favorite of ours. So we decided to order some takeout a couple weekends ago and have a picnic with their Italian goodness! Joshua ordered their $30 deal which includes a salad, filet, side (lobster mac & cheese was his choice), and dessert (chocolate cake for us). A LOT of food for $30 – definitely worth it! I, of course, ordered a pizza.
Cook-out – For some reason we were both totally craving cook-out last weekend. So we indulged ourselves and relived our college days – burgers, a milkshake for me, and the biggest cheerwine for Joshua. It was all just as good as I remembered it to be!
The String Bean – One of our favorite local spots in the town next to us! Another spot I’ve mentioned here a few times. They have a great mix of items. Their duck fat fries are my favorite thing ever – and y’all were alllll about them when I posted them on my Instagram stories. Trust me – you haven’t had good fries until you’ve tried duck fat fries!

WHAT I WATCHED
Still watching Riverdale and Dynasty. Riverdale finally seems to be picking up and becoming a little more interesting this season. Dynasty is still killing it! Absolutely love that show. We finished up Deputy and would definitely recommend it – a great one to watch an episode here and there. We quit Homeland after two episodes – really couldn’t get into it and didn’t like how the husband treated his wife. We started and FINISHED Outerbanks in one week. We were completely hooked and are both honestly itching for season two! It is a MUST watch! Especially if you liked shows like One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, and the movie the Goonies.

FITNESS UPDATE
Same, same on the FWTFL front – very strict on the low carb days, not so strict on the other days. Have continued to change up my workouts basically every day. I’ve repeated a couple of my favorites I’ve tried since the quarantine started. Otherwise finding new ones is keeping things exciting and definitely keeping my body in shape. Like many, we have been going on walks any chance we get. Sometimes two or three a day.

Thanks for reading my April 2020 Recap. Take a look back a previous monthly recaps here.
We tried turkey meatballs last week and they were delicious. I’ve made more since. 1917 was very realistic and sad at times. I can only imagine what so many of them experienced leaving their families at such young ages and vice versa, giving to send your son off to war. It breaks my heart.
Kaitlyn @ Oh, the Places We’ll Go!
We are planning to make more this week as well – we’re definitely hooked! Totally agree with you on 1917 – I cannot imagine what everyone went through – so terrifying and heartbreaking.

I love this update! I started watching Dynasty and then just completely forgot about it lol! I stopped watching Riverdale because it was a bit too slow but maybe I’ll pick it back up! I’ve also heard amazing things about Outerbanks! And 1917 is on our watch list (hubby’s watch list lol).

I definitely need to get my hands on that polka dot midi dress. I love it in the blush/mauve color! And you’re making me want to give Outerbanks a try. I’ve been wary, but heard so many raves that it’s almost because of the hype that I’ve stayed away haha. I should give it a go anyways!

I love the “where we went” being just home. That’s where we’ve all been, but you’ve had a lot of other things going on which doesn’t draw attention to home and being at home too much. I love this post idea, and it really gives you perspective about all the amazing things you’re doing!
Yes girl – home, home, and home! And thank you so much!
xo Laura Leigh
We’ve had 1917 on our list for a while now so we’ll definitely have to watch it! I mean what else are we doing!
Yes for sure!
