WHERE I WENT

Winston Salem – Joshua and I took a little day trip to Winston-Salem last week. We needed to get out a bit and wanted to have a little day date. We explored Reynolda Village, Reynolda Gardens, Reynolda House (the grounds), downtown, had takeout from the Village Tavern, and grabbed kombucha from Village Juice Co. – it was the perfect mini getaway. Check out my full travel guide for Winston-Salem for more ideas.

MOVIES WATCHED

Bombshell – we watched this after watching The Morning Show and wow – just wow! I feel they are both must watches – really opens your eyes. Bombshell gives you a revealing look inside the most powerful and controversial media empire of all time; Fox News, and the explosive story of the women who brought down the infamous man who created it.

RECIPES TRIED

Homemade Granola – will share a recipe soon
Feta Turkey Meatballs
Strawberry Pie, Homemade Oatmeal Cream Pies, and Bulgur Salad – all from Magnolia Table Vol. II

WHERE WE ATE

The String Bean – I have mentioned this place every month of quarantine and that’s because we are truly obsessed. We have gone for takeout at least once every month. I’ve also mentioned this before but…. you haven’t had good fries until you’ve tried duck fat fries from String Bean!

Simonetti’s Italian – NEW LOCAL FAVORITE! This will forever be out pizza place now. Their servings are huge and the quality is amazing. Joshua and I picked up takeout and had a little backyard date a few weekends ago. Our conversation basically only consisted of us saying how big everything was and how amazing it tasted.

WHAT I WATCHED

Still watching Riverdale and Dynasty. Riverdale has become A LOT more interesting lately and I am so thankful. Pretty sad Cole and Lilli broke up in real life but hopefully that isn’t the end game for Jug and Betty. Dynasty is continuing to kill it! Completely hooked! We started watching Entourage together. There are A LOT of seasons! We’re currently on season four. Both loving it. Eric is my favorite and we both cannot stop laughing at/with Drama and Turtle.

FITNESS UPDATE

Same, same on the FWTFL front – very strict on the low carb days and now a little more strict on other days as well. Have continued to change up my workouts basically every day. I’ve repeated a couple of my favorites I’ve tried since the quarantine started. Otherwise finding new ones is keeping things exciting and definitely keeping my body in shape. Continuing one to two walks a day.

Thanks for reading my May 2020 Recap. Take a look back a previous monthly recaps here

  8. This sounds like a great month! I’m going to try out these TV shows, I’ve been wanting to watch Dynasty for a while now. I was actually named after the family in that show “The Carrington’s” but it was the 1980s version of the show! So I feel like I need to watch it lollll. Xx.

    • Absolutely! Oh my gosh you absolutely have to. It is such an amazing show – I love that you were named after them. I actually just connected with someone else that was named after Fallon from the show. So fun!
